If you had to start a fresh journey in online making, what will you choose ?

I'd start with a youtube channel and grow subs. It'll constantly bring visitors as Google can't steal them now. SEO is screwed as soon as Google started AI results. Social media is a race for engagement. Algorithm can make or break you overnight. So, youtube seems like the only stable platform.

Oh, if I were a fresh-faced 19-year-old artist looking to make a buck online, I'd probably go for something less saturated than illustration, like, say, learning to code or becoming a social media manager for some influencer's chihuahua. Because, let's be honest, everyone and their grandma is an illustrator these days, and the competition is fierce

That will give money for sure if you become popular but I doubt there is satisfaction there with majority of influencers. If you choose the right path and do not do tweaking like catchy thumbnails and all, you will not grow. Exceptions can be there.

I would start a YouTube channel offering free guides which would serve as lead magnets to collect email addresses too. I would have ChatGPT make all the free guides titles and content within and videos scripts. Then I would record videos of myself talking with a teleprompter app or just split screen with Camera and my notes app and use Leonardo AI to get images. I would post 100 at 1 per day.
