starting my own phone farm? what is the best way?

i decided to start my own phone farm what is the best and cheapest way to do this
i have a few questions:

• used entry level android phones?
• root or no root?
• old iphones 12-13?
• if they don't receive long software updates is a concern? most cheap phones don't receive updates also old iphones don't
• motherboards directly?
• energy efficiency?
• best software to mange them?
• limitations?

i appreciate if anyone has experience with this

Honestly depends on your method. If you plan to grow quality accounts, it’s iPhones. Yes exactly, 12-13 is the best choice. OS updates are not a problem, get latest iOS, there’s no jb for these iPhones anyway. After some scaling you may want to delegate some jobs to VAs or setup automation, for which you can use nomix clickers. But if your method is more about suicidal fast-living accounts, then Android is a better choice of course money-wise.

is there a software on pc that can allow me to view and also manage and send tasks to all the phones in the farm for example if i have 10 iphones?
and if i choose to go with the iphones should every iphone have a different apple id?

Start with cheap used Android phones, don't root unless you specifically need to, and cooling, focus on power, and management. The biggest limitations are app policies, account restrictions, and low returns — not hardware. Make sure your use case complies with the app team of service.

buying old iphones for a cheap phone farm is the quickest way to go broke before you even start. apple ids are a total nightmare to manage because they will lock you out for verification every time you breathe wrong, and you can buy three cheap androids for the price of one iphone 12 .
just get some cheap used androids and don't bother rooting them unless you love spending your weekends fixing bricked devices. the real problem nobody tells you about isn't the software updates, it is the batteries swelling up and turning your room into a fire hazard because you leave them plugged in all day

Yeah of course. If you need to see the screens and control iphones remotely, you can use nomix clickers.

There are different methods, separate apple id per iphone is actually a good and robust way, the only downside is that it limits you to in-app multiaccounting (like 5 accounts per phone in practice). Other options that are known to me are livecontainer (has its caveats but works for some cases) and hacking original ipa files of applications to embed your own tweaks (requries a good dev or a lot of patience trying to build it with LLMs).

What about "optimized charging" tho? It leaves your batteries at safe 80% even when charging 24/7.
