Do mixed backlinks still work in 2026?

High quality backlinks like guest posts and editorial links matter the most now. Low-quality comment or profile links do not add much and can look spammy . A mix is fine , but keeping the focus on strong , natural links feels safer.

Mixed links still works but i stopped using it, most of my results come from relevant guest posts and editorial placements. I use mixed links just for diversity. I always focus on quality, relevance, and consistent link velocity.

Honestly, I'd focus on relevance over volume. A few strong links from websites that are actually related to your niche can do more than hundreds of profile or comment links.

I don't think low quality links are as effective as they once were. They may not hurt, but they often don't help much either. My approach would be to focus on quality guest posts, editorial mentions, and relevant industry links, then let the smaller links occur naturally rather than making them the core of the strategy.

These days, good links seem to amplify a strong site rather than compensate for a weak one.

Guest posts and niche edits from relevant high authority websites work the best in my opinion.
 
From what I've seen, relevance and quality matter much more than the specific backlink type. A balanced approach with strong editorial or guest post links supported by a natural-looking link profile tends to be more sustainable than relying heavily on low-quality links.
 
Yes mixed links still works. It just doesn't mean you have to just put the website url and leave it. There is always place to do it better by uploading, profile, making some related information fill up, social media profile integration, etc. It just not need to be spammy.

most of my better results have come from relevant guest posts and strong niche links.
a natural mix is fine but quality seems to matter a lot more than it did a few years ago.

PBN can still work but are risky so i would not rely on them for long run.

Low quality backlinks like spam comments and PBNs are risky and can hurt rankings. it is safer to avoid them completely. a clean strategy is using only high authority relevant backlinks is best for the long term approach for stable rankings.
