[Journey] Building an iOS & Android App Empire

Do you require or have optional log-in in your apps to follow-up with email marketing?
I saw a lot of apps have some long onboarding flow to follow up with a free 7 day trial that goes into a yearly plan or a paid one month trial that goes into a yearly plan.
Do you have experience with this and do you also do it like that?

i dont do email marketing, never had time to set it up. will probably set it up on my web app or website if i have enough time.
i also have a long onboarding, but not offering a trial. if you have api costs i wouldnt recommend a free trial.

That is a solid foundation already Going from zero coding knowledge to multiple monetized apps is impressive I like the focus on retention and long term sustainability because those are usually the projects that survive platform changes and keep growing over time
thank you very much

If you are not getting over 100 views, your set-up is flawed. Every video usually gets at least around 100 views if everything is correct.
What kind of videos are you making? Is it slideshow or UGC reaction type? I am asking this because, manually making videos is not easy when one want to scale account.

Both, I try all and see what works

Do you ask users to set-up an account or is it all just in-app?

Where can I find your training kit? E-book where?
coming very soon

they have the option to create an account through google sign in, apple sign in and email. if they skip registration they are signed in as anonymous users so they still get a userid

I’m currently planning to release iOS and Android apps for my website’s mobile version. It turns out my competitor created a mobile app straight away and is generating 1kmrr without any trouble. For me, the problem at the moment lies with marketing. I tried TikTok with OpenClaw and slideshows, but I must have chosen the wrong format because I had very few views and leads. The account was well-established, targeting the US market, with three posts a day and 5x slideshows. It’s great that I came across your post; I’ll definitely be keeping up to date with it. What do you recommend in terms of automation on TikTok? How many accounts do you currently have?

I am 3 weeks with my apps and what I can tell, it's impossible to get even 10 downloads / day without paid ads

you need to figure out distribution and improve ASO. Did you make keyword research for each country/language?

Try different formats and check what your competitors do. If you dont find competitors try different formats to see what works.

I have around 30 accounts in total targeting different markets: Germany, Japan and USA.

Of course I made + translation, Astro keywordz on each country
traffic is almost zero ;)

Are you sure about the "Of course"? I just pulled up your app you sent me weeks ago, its right in front of me. Its not ASO optimized, at least not the title and subtitle which are the MOST important. ;)

I just checked two languages:

German: You are using 17 out of 30 characters in for both title and subtitle.
USA: You are using 19 characters for title and subtitle.

This is not ASO optimized at all.

Your screenshots are also way too dark, its very difficult to differentiate the background from your actual UI. It needs improvement or replacement.

The app idea itself is alright, you can market this well on TikTok, but you would need to improve the UI for this. Make it more viral, more playful.

Sent you app
You was checking my first app I submited, then I made 2 apps more ;)

Well, all titles/subtitles and description made in Astro for 30 popularity < 60 difficulty
Only screenshots you may not like
No.

Title and subtitles are not fully used. They are the strongest ranking/indexing factor by far.

If your game is to only get organic downloads through search on the App Store, you need to add as many keywords as possible to both title and subtitle. Yes, even remove your app name / brand name.

Of course you can add ONE keyword + your brand name...if your primary distribution channel is not ASO but viral marketing and paid ads.

@nakamura can I ask how u optimize ASO, title?

is it like SEO on google or works diffrenty

I mean ex. kword: life goals tracker

u need use exact match? or just need use each word in title atleast once? so doest matter if title is goals life tracker or tracker life goals ?

good keep it up i am also in app development from last 6 year your sharing are very insightful keep us updated

thanks for good feedback @nakamura i read every post you send here.

Would you mind explaning how you would for example ASO a training app? lets say name is

"Home Gym"

how would you expand this as title + subtitle?

Question nr 2. Did u see big difference in downloads using Tiktok or Youtube shorts for example?

1. do keyword research and find the ones with the lowest difficulty and highest popularity.

you wont rank for the keyword Home Gym if you just publish your app now. there will be too much competition with millions of downloads already.

Go for longterm keywords, make keyword research. never use a term twice.

2. yes, especially if the video goes viral. you will see a spike in downloads. you can be pretty sure if you make a video about your app (and also show your app in the video) and 5 million people watch it, there will be people downloading it. the question is: how much can you make the people want to download this app? this fully depends on your video. need to find a good format, good hook, must be overall convincing but not make it look like an ad
