Some shorts reach 10k+ views while others don't even break 200. same style same niche of content. YouTube can feel random at times.

one thing that i found works is to correctly label the short before you upload. I mean seo optimizing the title of the video file before loading on YT, it is not much but videos with a name instead of a string of numbers seem to do better for me

It depends on various factors, such as the timing of the post, the content and quality of the video, and relevant keywords.

youtube just tests each short with different audiences, so even same style can perform totally different.

Videos with a high number of views are often recommended more frequently. The more your videos are recommended, the faster your channel can grow.

YT is testing each Short with different audience segments and doubling down on the ones that get stronger early retention. small differences in the first few seconds often decide whether it gets pushed further

It feels random at first, but usually the difference comes down to early retention and swipe behavior in the first hour, not the niche or style itself.

It might not be so random, but what I can say is that once a short gets views very fast it will keep getting views for a good period of time

ya bro its pure luck sometime, but check your watch retention on that 200 views ones maybe people swiped away too fast

Sometimes not even that work, i have seen many shorts random title or nothing or just one word and shorts reach upto 200k or plus, op is correct but your advise is considerable too, thanks

YT could be testing each Short with different audience slices and deciding quickly based on early retention and rewatches, aside from this you could be also doing your own testing for what time it is best for your audience
True, they test what people stuck on and on what they swipe fast

Yea, that's why testing is necessary, time of posting do matter most times.
This is a better advice, it depends on your account and country sometimes, when the audience is consuming your content but I feel shorts behave differently or maybe YouTube itself is in test mode

check ur channel's stats. I think it all has to do with retention (how long users keep watching the Short on average)
If retention time is low, then the hook is ur main issue

Honestly, youtube Shorts be acting weird. You post the same type of content, same style, same niche... one hits 10k+ views and the next one struggles to crack 200. The algorithm really wakes up and chooses chaos sometimes.

yes, as i said earlier, the algorithm always throw that shorts in feed, which are actually binding people to screen, that's why we are able to see random shorts in feed, also they tried to test with asking for our opinion in end "did you like this recommendation"
