I've sold a ton of stuff but this almost fooled me for the first time in a long time.
A little filthy scammer sent me what appeared to be legitimate USDT landing in my wallet but it was a fake token which I discovered when trying to convert to USDC as it was flagged from the wallet before delivering the product.
It landed the same way a regular USDT transaction would raising no suspicion in the first place.
For sellers, 2 things.
Check the transaction on the chain's explorer if it has been marked suspicious or similar plus if it's a new contract, aka a scam, it would not have a history of legit transactions.
The safer way though is to check the token's contract address you just received against the publicly known contract address of USDT on that chain.
Moral of the story. Do not trust blindly USDT or others that just landed in your wallet especially if the "buyer" is new.
