I have been using Pinterest for a while now, and I've never looked at it as a business promotion thing i now saw some of the threads and posts and ppl mentioning about it and it got me curious cause i always looked at it as a laid back picture wallpapers thing. My questions are how can someone use it for promotional purposes, specially someone in other business not about beauty, aesthetics etc more like digital products etc. also is there any traffic, is it worth it like insta etc i would love begginer level advice to Pinterest marketing

Yeah, a lot of people think Pinterest is just for wallpapers. But it can actually drive good traffic for digital products too. Create pins that solve problems, link them to your website or product, use keywords, and be consistent. It won't be as fast as Instagram, but the traffic can last much longer.

Treat it more like a visual search engine than social media; focus on keyword rich pins, solve specific problems, stay consistent, and your pins can drive traffic for months or even years, unlike Instagram posts that often fade within days.

You can use it for promotional services depending on what products/services you sell. Pinterest has mainly a female audience so if your products/services are not catered to women you probably won't be able to sell.

A lot of people make that assumption because Pinterest looks like a social media platform, but it's actually closer to a visual search engine. People go there looking for ideas, solutions, guides, templates, and products, not just pretty pictures.

For digital products, think about creating pins around problems and outcomes rather than the product itself. For example, instead of promoting a budgeting spreadsheet, create pins like "Free Monthly Budget Template" or "How to Track Expenses in 5 Minutes." The pin then links to your website, blog, landing page, or product page.

The good thing about Pinterest is that content can continue sending traffic for months or even years, unlike Instagram where posts often die quickly. The downside is that traffic can be slower to build, and users are often in research mode rather than ready-to-buy mode.

If I were starting today, I'd create a business account, optimize the profile around a niche, make 5 to 10 high-quality pins for each piece of content, and focus on keywords people actually search for on Pinterest. Think less like a social media marketer and more like an SEO marketer who happens to be using images.

My services are non gender specific but thanks for the suggestion

Thanks bro for this amazing advice i wanted to ask about or just confirm something
I tried using Pinterest in that way but what happened was the quality of the video that i put wasn't stabled sometimes it was alright other times it wasn't or something like this would happen when i would upload it it would be fine for that time but then the problem would start later

Pinterest is a search engine, so you can promote digital products by posting keyword based pins that link to your site, and it can bring steady long term traffic if you focus on helpful, searchable content rather than just images.

@msbehavedd the video compression on pinterest is honestly trash, it happens to everyone. if your file is too big or the bitrate is high, their encoder just wrecks the quality after it processes. try rendering them in 1080x1920 but keep the file size under 15mb if you can.

tbh though, for digital products, static pins with a clean mockup and a clear call to action usually convert way better than videos. i noticed this last year when running a campaign for some templates... videos got tons of views but barely any clicks to the site. static pins actually got people to click. maybe try a mix of both and see what works for your niche.
