How to earn from Web scraping

One thing I've learned with scraping is that clients rarely care about the scraper itself. They care about what the data and only the data.

I'd focus less on selling scraping services and more on packaging the output into something useful for people. Scraping is the engine, not the product, data is the product...

I have recenlty worked for client, scrape realtor and zillow and build very strong web scraping pipeline, i can handle the web scraping clients, but i don't know how to get clients for that and also if i go with collecting data like zillow and realtor what i can do???
You could partner up with real estate agents and either sell them the leads or get a cut from their commission when a transaction occurs.

do not sell “web scraping”; sell the result: cleaned, enriched, useful data that helps them make money or save time. You can even go one step further and turn scraped data into qualified leads, then send outreach emails with offers. That way you are not selling cheap raw data, you are selling expensive ready-to-use leads.

Yeah the guys above are right about selling the output rather than the scraper. With zillow and realtor, the real money is usually in finding stale listings... like properties sitting on the market for over 90 days or FSBOs. Wholesalers and flippers love those because they are motivated sellers. I did something similar last year with expired listings in my area. Scraped about 500 of them, found the owners contact info, and just posted in local real estate facebook groups. Sold the list pretty fast. @GetwpDone if you can skip-trace the owners and package it as ready-to-call leads, you can charge a premium. No one wants raw data, they want people they can call today.

The most obvious answer would be selling the data, there’s always people out there in need of fresh leads/data.

Honestly the skip tracing angle @Rankings Daily mentioned is where the actual margin is. Raw zillow data is basically a commodity at this point, everyone and their dog is scraping it. But owner contact info on stale listings or FSBOs... that takes more steps so most people dont bother, which is exactly why it pays.

One thing nobody mentioned, before you go hunting clients go find where they already hang out. There are real estate investor facebook groups, REIA meetups, wholesaler discords where people literally complain daily about bad lead lists. Sit in those for a week and you'll know exactly what data they want and what theyll pay. Way easier than cold pitching upwork imo.

Also dont sleep on recurring stuff. A one off list sells once. But a weekly feed of new FSBOs or price drops in someones target zip code, thats a subscription. Charge monthly and you stop chasing clients every week.
