With reddit's recent spam filtering updates account suspensions and ban waves I'm starting to wonder if traditional metrics like account age and karma matter as much anymore.

I have seen aged high-karma accounts gets filtered ort banned while newer accounts with random karma seem to survive and generate engagement It feels like Reddit is focusing more on behavioral patterns authenticity and how naturally a brand is mentioned within relevant discussions.

for those actively doing Reddit marketing or brand promotion.

Do account age and karma still give a meaningful advantage?
Have Reddit's recent updates reduced the value of aged accounts?
Is success now more about contextual brand mentions and genuine participation rather than account metrics?
what strategies are working best for getting brand visibility without triggering filtering?

Curious to hear what others are seeing in 2026.

I think age and karma still give some advantage but much less than before I have seen old accounts get filtered while newer accounts with natural activity do fine In 2026 Reddit seems to reward genuine participation relevant contributions and natural brand mentions more than just account metrics building trust in the community is what works best now

I can confirm that Reddit has started banning accounts more frequently. I haven't figured out the patterns yet, but it's become much harder to work with. I mainly buy older accounts, but that doesn't always help.

Based on my experience, an account's age and Karma mainly help it remain stable and reduce the risk of suspension. They do not have a significant impact on promotional success or marketing performance on Reddit.

Brand mentions have always been the game

Account age and karma still have some value, but they're not the biggest factors anymore. Reddit seems to care more about natural behavior, relevance, and engagement patterns. In my experience, contextual brand mentions and genuine participation work much better than relying on aged accounts alone.

totally true high karma means nothing if u drop direct links, success nowadays is just about doing subtle brand mentions like a real user recommendation in the comments.

Aged accounts still help, ngl, but if the account suddenly goes from cat memes to SaaS recommendations, Reddit and users both see the costume

How many accounts you lost and what was the QCS of your accounts?

what i believe as a beginner, a trusted account with good consistency and participation can have an advantages but having an old account does not make sure success.

I just posted a new post on here with the method on how to make money with Reddit.
