Hey guys,
I've been scaling Fb ads for a while and keep running into billing-related account problems. A lot of ad accounts get flagged or disabled after adding payment methods.
Lately I've been testing international virtual cards (VCC) as an alternative billing solution and wanted to gather some real experiences.
For those who are actively running ads right now:
  • Are you using virtual cards for Meta advertising? How stable have they been compared to regular bank cards?
  • What kind of issues do you usually face with virtual cards (if any)?
  • Any tips for better billing stability in 2026?
Would appreciate honest feedback from people with actual experience.
Thanks!

For advertising accounts located in a particular country, it's best to use a credit card from that country.

I also encountered a similar situation when adding a new payment method. VCC still works, but in my opinion, its stability depends heavily on the Business Manager's trust and the ad account's spending history. New accounts are more susceptible to system checks. I know of a company that uses VCC quite reliably and stably.

Virtual cards are fine if the account already looks healthy.
If the BM is sketchy, even a “good” card won’t save you.

Yeah, you can use virtual cards, but sometimes they cause issues. Facebook can flag them or put limits on them. Traditional bank cards are more stable, but international payments can still have problems. Tip is to verify your payment method and keep multiple cards ready so your account doesn’t get suspended.

I've noticed many people still use virtual credit cards (VCCs) to run ads on Facebook/Meta, but their reliability is often not as good as using real bank cards. In some cases, they can easily get flagged when adding new cards or when the system checks payments. For greater reliability, it's better to use a real bank card, maintain a good payment history, and avoid changing payment methods too frequently.

The usual issue with VCC is the card BIN. They might not be good or has been re-used resulting to being flagged by meta.

You can try slash/airwallex.

hey
i think are more preferable for the ads because you can issue many cards for all your ads accounts in one click via any vcc service + most vcc services provide BIN diversity thats why when you will get risk payment or some other bans – you can choose another BIN and it will take a few seconds

use different cards services in order to keep your money safe.

i think both works but virtual cards sometimes give issues
like random declines or fb asking for verification more often

traditional cards more stable for long term accounts
but virtual cards good for scaling and testing multiple ad accounts
also heard fb flags some BINs if too many fails happen
best is keeping backup cards always so ads dont stop suddenly

For ad accounts tied to a specific country, it’s generally better to keep your billing setup consistent with that market where possible. A consistent setup can help avoid unnecessary issues and keep account management smoother.

Hey man, let me clear this up right now: there is absolutely zero difference between using a physical bank card and a virtual one (VCC). As long as the BINs aren't blacklisted, FB literally does not care. I used to run real physical cards back in the day, but I’ve been using exclusively VCCs for ages now, and everything links perfectly. If you're catching bans right when you attach a payment method, it’s almost definitely your setup, not the cards. Here’s the deal: FB has specific action triggers that run a trust check on your profile. Logging in is a trigger, opening Ads Manager for the first time is a trigger, accepting the policies is a trigger, and adding a card is just another one of those standard checkpoints.

What's likely happening is that your setup is already flagged, or you're just using trash accounts. Adding the billing info is simply the exact moment the FB algorithm finally decides to strike, making you think it's a "card problem." Fix your account quality and make sure your proxy/GEO matches perfectly, and your VCCs will run flawlessly.

It’s not really VCC vs normal card imo. Meta cares about the whole setup. Good bank card can work, good VCC can work too. Bad BIN / too many failed payments / fresh account = problems either way. Main thing is don’t keep switching cards and spamming payment attempts.

A good VCC can work, but if the account already has risk signals, switching cards usually won't solve the issue. For stability, focus on consistent billing details, verified business info, and avoiding frequent payment-method changes.

I’ve had a pretty good experience with virtual cards so far. For me, the biggest thing is finding a reliable provider and keeping the billing setup consistent.

agree with you! it is also possible that the personal information linked to the card has been used too many times and has been flagged...

You should use a card that matches the country specified in the billing section.

The card's geographic region must match the account's region and the proxy's location.

Physical cards consistently outperform virtual ones. However, physical cards aren't a sustainable long-term solution. You should find a payment provider that offers mass issuance of virtual cards; fortunately, there are plenty of such services available today.

keep billing info consistent and avoid constantly adding/removing cards or switching payment methods
