Same stuff bro. Cricket forever

What I did after a friend convinced me was start attending smaller league matches in my city.

They're pretty low key and you get to interact with the players etc. as well.

After 1-2 matches, I was hooked. And you get to meet these polite, aspirational, hard working kids. And hear about their experience playing football in a country that worship cricket.

It's been real fun. And I do make a plan to visit every chance I get.

India's football team is improving a lot so maybe they might persuade you to become a football fan yet!

That's the dream.

England, France, Brazil and Argentina are top favourites England

looks strong with Tuchel and Kane but France still feels the most balanced

I'm a huge football nerd and I like watching a lot of leagues from around the world that generally don't get much coverage. I've watched a lot of Indian regional football because you can find a lot of live games on YouTube. The quality is definitely getting better, even quite often playing on poor playing surfaces.

England's got a pretty good chance this time. I'd bet on them.

India's football team is improving a lot
Unfortunately, no they're not. There's negligible investment in Indian football. I refuse to believe we can't build a world class team out of 1.5 billion people. A major chunk of money flows into cricket and all other sports are ignored in the process.

We can't even fucking beat Tajikistan.

In fairness though, Tajikistan are rated a fair bit higher in the rankings and when I saw them against Hong Kong and Jamaica I thought they gave a really strong account of themselves. But maybe I've not seen as much of them as you have, so fair enough.

Obviously cricket will always be the biggest sport over there but like you say, there should be more than enough people to build a strong side at some point even taking cricket into consideration. Football's still big over there, I believe, but there does need to be investment in the grass roots and schools.

I'm going with Spain. Love the way they play and so many young stars in team!

So who do you think will win it?
France or Brazil, depending on who's luckier

What about you’ll which team are you’ll supporting and why?
my crappy nation (Romania) is not here... my 2nd other (apparently also crappy) nation that I usually root for (Italy) are also not here... my 3rd other (not crappy but also not very good either) favorite nation (Germany) IS here... so, Germany will be then!

If the Germans don't win it (which I suspect they won't), then I wouldn't mind the Dutch to win it (just because they're the biggest footballing nation that's never won the WC), but since the Dutch are pathetic lately (besides Van Dijk, and Reinjders they have no team, sorry to all Dutch fans, but IMO all other players are bad... definitely not to the standard of older Dutch legends like Bergkamp, Robben, Seedorf, even Huntelaar which I've had a soft spot for had been better - IN MY OPINION (so don't try to fact check me with your undeniable truth, because I don't care about it, I personally liked KJH and let's move on) - than Depay or even RvP...)

So anyway (and without dragging this for too long), since Romania and Italy are not here, I will root for the following teams, in THIS particular order:

- Germany
- Netherlands
- Brazil (weirdly, I've never been a Brazil fan, but they're too big to keep rolling in mediocrity, it's time for them to shine again)
- England (because of Kane, I love that player and I think he deserves a major trophy, otherwise I couldn't care less about England if Kane was not part of it)
- Mexico (I never had any beef with Mexicans, and I wouldn't mind them winning it on home turf, just not before the other nations that I've mentioned :p )

Besides being Portuguese, I believe Portugal will win. The quality of this team is just insane.

Heart says Portugal will win (Jota is watching over them) but mind says Germany. Let's see how it goes! Do we have a world cup fantasy league for BHW?

India's football team is improving a lot so maybe they might persuade you to become a football fan yet!

There is this new Indian Coach that's coaching a local team called Ranjit Bajaj, his teams have shown real promise in youth leagues (Minerva Football Academy)

We need people like him in our football community if anything is to grow here. Otherwise its all politics and making money from the football for these directors.

Fun fact: Indian Football Team spent $16,800 USD on something really important to improve there game.. guess what? they spent it on ASTROLOGY. Corruption is insane here

It won't be Scotland, although at least I'm getting a day off of work for it

at least for me, this is by far the worst WC I've ever seen and it doesn't even started yet, full of shit happening behind the scenes

I would be happy if Curacao, Cape Verde or Haiti win this shit and with their charisma, save this competition full of bad vibes
