Trustpilot going downhill... Untrustworthy now?

Am I the only one having this problem with Trustpilot?

You launch a new business, get real paying customers, send them legitimate review invitations, and they take the time to leave honest feedback. Then Trustpilot decides to remove those reviews or flag them for whatever reason.

Meanwhile, a competitor or random person leaves a negative review, and somehow that stays up without any issues.

What's the point of asking customers for reviews if the platform keeps deleting genuine ones? It feels like you're guilty until proven innocent.

I've spent time building businesses, serving customers, and inviting real clients to share their experiences, only to watch reviews disappear. At this point, I have completely lost confidence in Trustpilot and will be removing Trustpilot widgets and integrations from every website I own.

Their review filtering system feels broken, inconsistent, and unfair to new businesses trying to build credibility.

Anyone else dealing with this? Or is Trustpilot becoming less trustworthy than the businesses it's supposed to be reviewing? I've literally wrote negative reviews on random businesses.. Approved. (Deleted as they're for testing) Then wrote positive ones elsewhere... not genuine. Lol

Long story short.. TrustPilot is a joke.

I disliked them from long ago, they were always pushy, got several calls for them to upgrade, kept saying no and after a while they were back at it. Also sending all that high quality customer traffic to them for free basically also sounded bad to me, all the rest have to work hard and pay to get that traffic and they want it for free so they "promote us back"...bullshit

....so, good riddance

Freaking ridiculous... I really hope one day Trustpilot loses their credibility.

Trustpilot have been successfully transformed itself into distrustpilot. I remember the old days where you can just publish any review there.

For now there AI / mods seems to flag anything positive and then rewarding any bad reviews. Its just the game they play to keep everyone who have issues with any product keep coming back to them. Its like fb rewarding controversial posts to keep traction on platform.

That's exactly how it feels. We invited real paying customers, not friends, not incentivized reviews, not fake accounts. Some got removed, some got flagged, and then you see negative reviews stay up with no questions asked.

I'm all for filtering fake reviews, but if genuine customers are getting filtered while negative reviews pass through, then something is clearly broken. At that point, the platform starts hurting legitimate businesses more than helping consumers.

Yeah, you're not alone, Trustpilot has become a joke lately. They delete real customer reviews from new businesses like crazy while fake or negative ones stay up forever.

Trustpilot is a bit sketchy because their entire business model hinges on you paying to essentially remove bad reviews.

Unfortunately the masses still trust trustpilot immensely so it's better to have one especially because it ranks high for your brand name.

Which I guess could be a bad thing if you get review bombed.

You cannot remove trustpilot reviews. try paying sellers here. if you success ill bow down to you

their platform is horrible. it has essentially become a pay2play site for many things, many businesses have even disclosed, though small sample size, that their review removal rate differ significantly between being a non paid listed business vs paid. also as others said, the part where genuine reviews get removed but obviously fake reviews can still stay makes their whole premise of being a platform of trust completely invalid

a business sales is high, regular customer was too much. got review normally 10-15 reviews per day. unfortunately Trustpilot give warning batch. why? how many days it will take time to remove the warning?

Most review site are a scam, it's crazy how people cling to them. I prefer to do my own research and trust my gut. It's normally right. I do make sure they have a money back guarantee or a free trial. CYA

After you buy their review plan, the reviews will stay. Lol

May be they are thinking negative reviews are the real users/ clients.

May be this is how they think they will stay forever.

I just had this issue with them. Real customer leaves a review but it is removed and customer told me and showed me the emails from trustpilot. But some competitor posts a negative review and it is up within 10 minutes and not going anywhere

All review sites are a scam.

The entire goal is to absorb as much negative feedback as possible so businesses pay a premium to hide this negative feedback. Some of the negative feedback is stolen from other review sites and then copied on their site.

Only unsatisfied customers complains
Most satisfied customers,won't go writing reviews
That's how the algo is made to think
So all good reviews are deleted
Next time
Tell your customers to write good reviews by giving you a 3 star
Or 4
Those works well
