you understand free is never good and cab harm you .

I know I'm a bit late to reply to this post but I still felt it was worth sharing the right guidance, TBH in 2026 derictory submission backlink don't really have any value anymore. Even if you build 100 free directory submission backlinks they're unlikely to help your rankings. As @proxygo mentioned they can actually do more harm than good in many cases instead of providing any real benefit.

For web hosting I wouldnt bother with those huge “1000 free DA directory” lists, most are same scraped junk and half not indexed. Better take 10-20 general dirs like SoMuch/Prolink/Hotfrog if they have a live hosting/software category, then mix with niche stuff like hosting review sites, SaaS/startup directories and some forum/profile links where the page actually gets crawled. Check the category page in Google first, if it’s not indexed or full of casino/adult/pharma anchors just skip it... DA won’t save that link.
