Yes tiktok absolutely still pushes new accounts organically in 2026, the platform remains one of the few where a brand new account with zero followers can go viral overnight with just one good video, this is because tiktok uses an interest graph not a social graph meaning content is recommended based on what people like to watch not who they follow, a video from a new creator can rank right alongside content from million follower accounts if the engagement signals are strong enough.
The key change in 2026 is that new videos now go through a follower first test before wider distribution, your content is initially shown to your existing followers and only pushed to non followers if those early viewers engage well with it, this makes having some initial followers valuable but still not strictly necessary because the algorithm also tests videos with small pools of non followers who have related interests.

In my experience, new accounts seem to receive more exposure from recommendation algorithms. Videos on my new channels often get a large number of views during the initial period, and then growth tends to slow down over time.

From what I've seen, new accounts can still get good reach, but it's not as easy as before. TikTok seems more selective now than it was a few years ago.

I think TikTok is still one of the best platforms for organic reach, especially compared to other social apps. Just don’t rely on the algorithm alone post regularly and engage with your audience too.

they still do but you need to start with quality from the first video. The old strategy of getting engagement from grainy videos, and then getting serious about quality does not work. You need to start with high quality, and a good niche in mind already
