How do you market your company on Reddit?

Hi,

We're seeking to start marketing on Reddit for the first time as a hosting company. But we're unsure on how we can do that successfully.

We'll initially try out Reddit Ads (Any tips are welcome here).

But outside of Reddit ads, how do you usually market on subs like r/VPS, r/Webhosting, r/Hosting, etc? As they have clear rules that you're not allowed to promote or market your service on these subs.

I assume one of the very few ways, is to have an old aged account comment on threads where a hosting recommendation can be squeezed in? Make threads that compares hosting services? What other ways are there and how do you market on reddit effectively as a hosting company?

Go to your niche subreddit, make a post and buy upvotes.

From my observation on Reddit, Direct promotion is strict subreddits rarely delivers results. It is more effective to contribute useful, relevant insights and lets your expertise speak for itself. Over time, this builds trust and attract organic traffic. In my opinion, a restrained approach work best.

Marketing on Reddit isn't about selling directly. You first join the community, make useful comments on people's posts, and build trust. Once credibility is built, you naturally introduce your product or service in relevant places. Spam or direct promotion often gets deleted or downvoted.

The most effective approach is to share genuinely helpful insights, comparisons, and answers within niche communities while respecting rules, so your expertise builds trust and naturally attracts interested users.

The goal is adding value first. Through engaging in the appropriate discussions, assisting others, and sharing relevant information, trust develops organically and over time. Direct sales tactics are avoided.

add as much value as you can. If have some subject matter experts at hand, make genuinely helpful contribution in subreddits, and you will get some good traction

I run Reddit ads for my company, but they haven’t delivered conversion rates as strong as those from Google Ads.

There are promotion rules on every sub i'm sure. Build your account up first, and register to all the tech subreddits, and see which ones you can post in as a promotion tag flair.

I would say the most effective Reddit marketing comes from building relationships, contributing valuable information and earning trust.

if you market a company, take time to learn about the niche of the company, do some good research for a few days. In reddit, look for people who want problems solved, make a good helpful comment and after a while, tie in your company, you will gain market fast. But dont try to make every comment about your company

Answer: According to me, contribution works better than promotion. Build a reputation in hosting communities first, then traffic and brand visibility come naturally over time.

I previously experimented with several marketing campaigns on Reddit, including paid advertising, but the results didn't meet my expectations, so I eventually discontinued those campaigns.
