When Google reviews increased, there was significant improvement in Google ranking and calls. Anyone else experienced same thing?

Definitely an important topic, I know a few tobacco shop and barber owners who saw roughly a 30% increase in revenue after implementing it.

yeah same here reviews definitely helped my rankings and calls went up when they started coming in steady not just one time boost but consistent flow matters more.

Reviews are definitely a strong trust signal for potential customers. After all, what else do they have to judge your business by before contacting you? In my experience, when a business starts getting more genuine reviews, rankings often improve and the increase in calls becomes noticeable as well.
 
yeah reviews definitely move the needle but the real headache lately is getting them to actually stick. google has been filtering out so many legit reviews because of their spam updates. if you are asking clients for them, make sure they don't do it while connected to your business wifi or they get ghosted instantly. also user engagement on the actual listing after they read the review is what really seals the rank boost.
 
yeah the wifi thing @Nexora550 mentioned is real but its actually getting even worse with the spam filters. lately google is checking the reviewer's actual location history. if the account has never physically been near the business, the review gets ghosted within 24 hours. i ran a test last month with some aged local guide accounts and even those got filtered if they didn't have geo-data. the only workaround that seems to work consistently now is having them upload a quick photo with the review. for some reason photos bypass the automated spam trigger most of the time. but yeah, to @TrooY point, the calls are definitely a mix of the rank boost and just the psychological trigger of seeing fresh stars.

Exactly.

How users engage with your content and the local trust you have built in the community definitely changes your traffic experience and of course rank.
I would even go further and say certain local guide accounts contribute to this greatly.
 
I’ve seen that happen, When Google reviews go up, rankings and calls usually improve too, especially for local businesses.
