How are you guys bypassing Google Business Profile location rules for remote/international Service Area Businesses?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out the best way to set up a Google Business Profile (GBP) for my business, but I'm hitting a wall with Google's strict location and verification rules.

Here’s the deal: I operate entirely remotely/internationally. I don't have a physical storefront, and my target audience is in a completely different country from where I actually live.

I know Google's official TOS states that GBP is meant for local businesses with face-to-face contact, and they have that unwritten "2-hour driving radius" rule for Service-Area Businesses (SABs). However, I see 100% digital agencies and international freelancers ranking on Maps in prime locations all the time.

How are people getting around this nowadays?

  • Are you using virtual offices (I heard Google is cracking down hard on these)?
  • Do you have a "white-hat" workaround to verify an address in a foreign country without actually leasing a physical space?
  • Or is everyone just using black-hat methods and hoping they don't get hit with a hard suspension?
Any tips, experiences, or workarounds would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

I'm looking for the same thing. Got an excellent target area but have no idea how these guys are bypassing, can anyone shed some light

A couple of years ago, I used the address of a building where many offices were available for rent, although it was not my main working location. After 6-7 months of waiting, my company was approved in Google Business Profile.
But if they are now asking for specific rental or legal address documents, I honestly don’t think it is worth trying without them. Most likely, you won’t pass verification without official documents of this kind.

Appreciation you sharing that,
I wanna say I believe even just an electric bill matching will suffice. I think I've cracked how it can be done,

Get a Virtual Office Address First
Before touching Google, you need a real commercial address in your target city. This anchors your business to a legitimate address in Google's database and passes their automated sweep.

Use a premium coworking provider: davincivirtual.com or regus.com. Search your target city, select the entry-level "Business Address" or "Virtual Office" plan — typically $50–70/month,

My target city is 3 hours from me I'm thinking of making the drive to the location, do there video verification

All this is just a theory but sounds like it checks all googles boxes.

I've made an entire playbook with all the live steps so nothing is left out when I go to try it
