Been gone a while.

With all this AI revolution going on everywhere...I've noticed a lack of people discussing...the different "hats" you can wear with AI.

Where would i go to find stories of Chipotle Max...while it is being developed?

Where are people discussing the resume hacks that fuel r/overworked?

I remember getting giddy using mouse recording to autorun mining in WoW.

Or change font color to the background color and spamming keywords at the bottom of a product page.

And now we have websites poisoning crawlers, invisible text, instruction hijacking...serendipidous.

Anyway, is there a forum here on BHW that discusses these isms?

What's going on with you, long time no see. Lot of things happened. AI slog is everywhere and ranking. People who can't write a got damn paragraph are making a bank spamming google with AI content. It's all about adopting to ai or getting left behind. AI is here to stay and so why not make a fortune with it.

Good to know. Same old stuff on my end. Got into flipping houses now on top of everything else. Fun stuff.
 
I can tell you I'm enjoying the shit out of using Claude Browser Extension in everything I do. Nothing better than opening a bunch of tabs and putting it to work on the mundane so I can focus on other things. In the real estate world, I have it updating all my dashboards daily (referral sites like Zillow require you to update their dashboard and rank you based on frequency.) Consider that all handled. HomeLight, Agent Pronto, Zillow, Sold.com, and on and on. Then my CRM gets a good review daily for Tasks that need to be done and communications that need to go out (text and email).

I use Lovable to create whatever apps I need...like real estate investment analysis, home inspection review, contract alignment, consultation presentations, etc. I've built the entire pipeline from start to finish for both buyers and sellers. Now I'm creating an online academy for buyers and seller for those who want education on the process to make a smarter decision when buying and selling. Next I'll be creating my own CRM and MLS frontend attached.
 
Well, me telling you "blogging is dead" is weird, to say the least.

IMO, AI is coming as a curse for some and as a blessing for others (we'll see if many). My view is that internet is one thing only: information (smart me, huh?). And there are 2 types of information: evergreen and current events.

Now, go and search for "how to tie a tie". Not only you will find a gazillion web pages telling you how to do it in a thousand ways, but now there is a watchdog who can compress that information for you and feed you with knowledge in seconds.
That's evergreen. And writing evergreen content is dead. Whatever subject you pick, it was discussed, dissected and analyzed by so many people in the last.. 30 years maybe. What can you contribute more? Almost nothing.

But there is another type of information that AI can't compete with. And that's current events.
For one, there's no "previous information" about what happened today. Nobody wrote about that 20 years ago on some obscure website. There is no expert in the field of "what just happened".

Or maybe there is? Of course there is. And quite a few. Just.. they don't write blogs. It's some Reddit post that offers some insight into "what just happened". And then a comment on an X post. Or maybe in a Facebook group.

There is always a group of people who knows "what just happened". My feeling is that the next SEO is just finding these people and take what they know collectively and summarize it with AI.
NOT NECESSARILY on a news website, that focuses on everything happening currently. The concept of niche still applies. One could provide news on latest medical research for pets easily. With human insights coming from real people, if you know where to look.
AI can't compete with that, even if there is an overcrowded "pets" niche of blogs. You will be as niched as can be, but relevant. Yes, AI will make a summary of your page, but insufficient, people will have to see your "original".

Maybe, my "pets" niche idea was not the best, but you get the point
 
This is exactly the kind of comment I came here for. A discussion about behind the scenes and the point of it all.

I always thought content like Equals 3 (Ray William Johnson) was brilliant because their "content" was just talking about people's content .

Current events SEO sounds a bit similar really.

What fascinates me is that I am seeing the same cycle repeat itself. Years ago we were hiding keywords, building link farms, automating forum posts and exploiting search engines like crazy. Today the tactics are different, but the underlying game hasn't changed... people are trying to influence in their favor how machines rank information.

The interesting difference with AI is that we're no longer just optimizing for search engines... No no you don't... You are starting to optimize for reasoning engines, which are one step smarter.
For example, a crawler can be tricked with links which seem of good quality, but an LLM can be influenced by other things like injecting stuff into training data, playing with authority signals and adding more data using prompts.

We never actually know what things will look like in 5 years from now, but we can adapt on the way down... This industry is always experimental...

Yeah the AI revolution is real and it will create more millionaires than the invention of internet ever did.
 
the thing with ai is that even if you don't like it you cant ignore it. It is best to keep up with developments, and try to figure out what works for you, instead of ignoring, and realizing you got left behind.

Ray Kurzweil Types? Futurist, even much of the future is driven by tech dictated by tech and known by tech? But, yes your of course mostly right. Its not fully known. Only in part. Good point.
