How do you evaluate Backlinks Quality?

When you are considering a guest post or any other backlink, what metrics you look at first?
DR, Traffic and relevance is important but some websites doesn't pass the value.
what are you main criteria for deciding whether a backlink is worth it or not.

I usually look at more than DR and traffic. Topical fit matters a lot, but I also check the page itself whether it gets crawled, how many outbound links it has, and whether the placement looks editorial or just like a link drop. A decent DR site can still be weak if the page is buried, spammy, or clearly built just to sell links.

For me that’s the most relevant factor. Genrally speaking, a backlink from a real, niche-related site with real trffic is worth more than a high-DR site that exists only to sell links.
 
For me, DR and traffic are more like first filter. I pay more attention to if the site has real engagement, ranks for relevant keywords, and maintains consistent quality over time.

Metrics work well but in many cases it is about the fit, because sometimes even though a site might be strong, it does not have any connection to the subject
 
Main focus is real organic traffic and niche relevance. DR alone isn’t reliable.
 
I usually look at niche relevance and traffic. Everything except this will be secondary for me..
 
i always check whether the site ranks for keywords in its own niche.
if most of the traffic comes from unrelated topics, that's usually a red flag.
outbound link patterns are important too.
 
Check if the site actually ranks for keywords in its niche and look at outranking trends If organic traffic is steady or growing and outbound links are not spammed, it will pass good value. Relevance and real traffic beat fake metrics. :)
 
Primarily, I'd also look at relevance. It's a good start. Traffic is a good second since relevant links would see higher traffic but not always the case. So whether the site ranks for real keywords, whether the content looks legitimate, and whether the outbound links seem natural. DR is useful as a quick filter, but I wouldn't use it as the deciding factor in and of itself.
Anyway, if the site looks like the kind I'd want my audience to discover from me, it'd very much consider it. If it exists solely to sell links, that's usually an easy pass.
 
I usually don't look DR first.A high DR site can still have very little value if its traffic is poor or the content is unrelated.

For me relevance is usually the first thing I check. A backlinks from a site in the same niche with real traffic is often more valuable than a high DR site that is unrelated. I also look at the site's content quality and whether the traffic appears genuine rather than focusing only on metrics.
