I’ve been spending time finding inactive subreddits in decent niches and requesting them through the proper process. Some actually have existing traffic, indexed pages, or decent names that could probably be useful for someone building a project or community.

I wasn’t originally planning to offer this as a service, but a few people asked me about taking over communities after I claimed them.

Feels like there’s a difference between random dead subreddits and communities that actually still have potential.

Not directly selling anything here, just trying to understand whether people still see value in this type of Reddit service nowadays.

People underestimate how much Google and Reddit both trust aged community footprints

There’s value if the subreddit has a strong name, some existing traffic, or a niche worth rebuilding.

But the real opportunity is in reviving and growing the community, not just claiming dead subs.

Reddit traffic is pretty much the best for any niche out there, it’s also one of the hardest platforms to consistently being able to post sticky content on, so yes - there’s a very large demand for pretty much anything reddit related.

If you have any that you don't need, I'd be interested in buying subreddits

Inactive or abandoned subreddits tend to generate very little engagement, making it difficult to run an effective campaign.

as a beginner i believe that old subreddits can be valuable for building a brand because they have an established community and active members.

yes, i think there is still value in this, but it depends a lot on the subreddit quality. i have seen people underestimate the value of aged communities. Even if the activity is low, the existing content, backlinks, and trust signals can make rebuilding much easier compared to starting from zero.

i have worked around Reddit marketing, and one thing I noticed is that communities grow faster when you respect the purpose of the subreddit instead of immediately moving towards promotion channel. A good revival strategy starts with useful discussions, valuable content and rebuilding member trust.
