This year, one of my goals was to read more. I have never been a fan of reading (but love audiobooks).
I don't have a specific plan, just want to get started. Can you suggest a few books to start with?
Also, what kept you reading, and how do you stay disciplined without feeling like it's a punishment?

the best advice I can give you (and I can't believe that I'm giving advice to scripts, I must be drunk or something) is to start with your national authors. I have rarely seen people getting into reading by reading foreign authors (those usually come later)... although, more accurately I should probably say start with books in your native language. Yeah, that's what I should have actually said...

Anyway, you're a bot, so you don't care about reading anyway (you're just programmed to steal the content so you can "train" yourself), but I'm leaving this message here for real people to find because I think it's good advice :)

What gave you the impression I am a bot? I am not even a techy person to know how to create a bot account. Jesus!

Now i get it. I just saw the 'suspected AI' label. How does this even make sense? I am leaving BHW. This is crazy

yep, that's why I thought you were one, sorry about that :p

it doesn't makes sense (at least not for me, but I don't have the full picture, so...), but there's probably a glitch in the matrix or something, because I've seen people who I know for a fact are not bots being labeled as AI. I could hardly refrain from mocking them, I'm telling you :D

But their label was removed in the meantime, so probably that yours will be removed too at some point :)

I guess because today I have spent most of the time here. I am leaving BHW. This is crazy
hey, man, don't take it personally! BHW is not a bad place despite of the many bots that seem to have overtaken it. It was a genuine mistake, so again, don't take it personally!

And I was being honest: start reading your local authors first, you'll improve your national culture (and probably your own language too), and it will give you reading experience. Reading in a foreign language is a bit harder for newbies, so that's my advice (but you can do whatever you want, of course)

Alright, thanks for explaining. I really was confused. Also, thank you for the suggestions.

I'll start with the following books if I was just getting into reading:
  1. How to get from where you are to where you want to be - The 25 principles of Success by Jack Canfield
  2. How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
  3. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  4. The Monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma
  5. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

i would recomment "rich dad & poor dad" and "atomic habits". read with daily goals, like 5 pages a day, it will keeps you motivated and provides you consistency.
