Seems like the only thing Instagram actually wants the user base to do is push out reels now. You can post photo posts and people will still engage with them but honestly, reels are pulling in the most amount of reach for me.

Reels were always more effective than plain pictures. This is old news. Also if people engage with your photos that is a good thing; your content must be excellent.

Pretty much. Photos and carousels can still get engagement, but Reels are getting the most reach right now. If you want new people to see your content, Reels are usually the way to go.

Post carousels actually do really well in my experience

Video is currently the dominant trend, and video content will almost certainly receive more visibility and preference.

Absolutely,I use a method with few twists, reels are very handy to bring me lot of traffic.

same thing i'm seeing. carousel posts still convert and build trust, but reels do the heavy lifting for discovery. smartest play isn't choosing one or the other. use reels to pull attention, then let profiles and posts do the selling once people land.

they are trying to stop tiktok or at least become the second best thing after tiktok

I also noticed the same thing. Photo posts can still get engagement, but reels seem to get much reach from instagram's algorithm. It feels like instagram is prioritizing video content more than ever right now.

Seeing something similar. Reels definitely seem to get much more reach lately compared to regular posts. Feels like Instagram is pushing video harder than anything else now.

It's either reels or carousels. Photo posts and stories are great for converting existing followers into your clients/leads.

Short-form videos seem to dominate almost every major social media platform today.

Yeah that’s pretty much how it is right now. Best approach is to keep using reels for reach, and use photo posts more for engagement with your existing audience.

Of course, because it requires competition with other platforms and users like that.

Reels may drive reach, but pairing them with strong photo posts is what turns attention into a loyal community.
