make a deposit box for every user on the forum.
that way u can know who u can work with,

as of now.. u see hundreds of therdas selling the same services
u scratching ur head to figure out with which one u should work with

unless, the guys who sell services will have a secuirty deposited of $100-1000
that way u know that if someone have $100 deposit he won't scam u for $50

also potential clients will be recognize almost instantly who has a serious bizness and who come to do a hit and run scam.

it will also increase the REP of the forum... you will able to understand that u work with serious biz ppl based on their deposit.

deposit should be optional, not a mendate

how did i get to that conclusion??
i was searching for servoces pm different forum, some had 0 deposit, some had up to 13k deposited secuirty fees. it made my process much more easier.
then, from there on.. whenever i see someone offer a services but have 0 deposit fee i skip instantly.
this move can take bhw marketpalce to the next level.

it will also decrease dramtically the scams on the forum and make less work for mods who handle disputes.

see example, this is someone who has no deposit. this feature is a huge time saver for both mods and members as well

Actually a very good suggestion and really would make buyers able to filter out and deal with serious service providers fast and easy.

There are many Russian forums use this security deposit feature in order to save the community from scammers
 
+1 for this idea.

The security deposit feature could be a good addition. It immediately helps to verify the sellers.

However, there are many moving parts in this, how to keep the deposits secure + the legal issues, but it could likely be one of the best new features here.

The sellers shouldn't be able to withdraw that security deposit for months, or whatever reasonable amount of time, considering the services they offer. They shouldn't be able to get it back by requesting their account closure without having to sit it out and wait until they are cleared.

  • Jr.VIP farms would lose value, can't top them all up.
  • Scammers would have a hard time selling high-ticket items without a security cushion.
  • Legitimate sellers can demonstrate confidence in their services and build trust with their customers
  • The forum's reputation would likely skyrocket as people would know there are services they can count on.

I definitely support this one, because this is something that genuinely helps attract new people to the community

EDIT: Let me just add... there could even be security batches. If someone has $5K-10K in security deposits, a batch could be issued for quick verification... no point issuing batches for a couple of hundred bucks, as scammers would take advantage of that immediately... a good sum or something.

The idea is good, but you can kick my ass if they really implement it here, things are more bureaucratic here, those russian forums don't care about legal liability, lawful issues and most of them are not even registered as proper companies, which is bad for some matters and good for this kind of stuff

insurance deposit is something that known for worldwide use and ideas has no nationallity.
about who will handle all this money, I think that admin can do some research about decentralized finance and cut this corner easily.

It's really no different than a contractor bond, which is required for many trades.

All my commercial clients require proof of being bonded, and that's for relatively low-value work.

Why this is BOLD:

- You can fake post count
- You can fake reviews
- You can fake reaction score

You can't fake deposit insurance.

I keep it simple and ez to understand, why this feature is super important for the forum

this is pretty much based on the old saying: "money talks"

They're already working on a proper escrow program, this is just a variation of that.
 
BHW is based in the UK,isn't it? I'm not sure this idea with our money laundering rules. I'm not an accountant but I know we have some strict rules about this sort of thing. I'm pretty sure it would involve licensing and lots of other legal stuff. Businesses can't hold money for clients here. There might be a workaround though.

make deposit server under different regulation, for example Cyprus, keep that under different subdomain and link to forum via api. it's all that easy that not even worth mentioning

but I'm all about this idea.

it would solve so many issues.
 
It's a really sound idea and one that we're going to look into. As implied above, different countries have different laws around finance. So we need to make sure we do our due diligence here and are covered. All the examples provided so far are based in Russia, a very different legal system to ours in the UK.
