From my point of view, it's a mistake. Many expired domain names don't relaunch, even with a very good backlink profile. In 2026, you have to go bulk and focus on those that do. Out of 50 I launch, only 15% relaunch correctly, and barely 5% relaunch very well... and the bottom line is that relaunching expired domain names is a lottery.

Don't stress the metrics now. Just push 3-5 basic articles and fetch them in Google Search Console. If they index within 48 hours, the domain is alive. If they don't index even after a week, it’s likely burned. That’s the quickest way to know where you stand.
