Hey guys,
I'm about to launch a jewelry store and I'm trying to decide between Stripe and Shopify Payments.
I've seen a lot of mixed opinions online. Some people say Stripe is fine until you start scaling, while others claim Shopify Payments is more stable since it's integrated with Shopify.
My biggest concern is account holds, sudden reviews, payout delays, and the usual stuff that can happen when processing higher-value orders. Jewelry isn't exactly a low-risk niche, so I'd rather learn from people who have already been through it instead of finding out the hard way.

For those running jewelry stores (or similar high-ticket stores):
Which one are you using?
Have you ever had funds held or payouts delayed?
Did things change once your volume started increasing?
If you had to start over today, would you still choose the same processor?

Just looking for some real feedback before I make a decision.

Stripe has a very strict system, and you can easily get caught up in many rules and lose your money. I'm happy with the Shopify system; it works properly, and it's scalable.

One of my clients set up with stripe.
It was very complicated, even after sales, stripe used to hold payments for very long time. More than usual.
Once a client charged back and jewellery was also delivered. Neither did he receive the money nor the jewellery back. Stripe support never helped him. It happened twice.

Hey Mate, you need a processor that better understands your business, and a dispute management company who knows your business as well

I'd pay close attention to dispute rates and fulfillment processes regardless of the provider. From what I've seen, a consistent sales history and strong customer support often have a bigger impact on account stability than the processor itself.
