in my observation niche subreddits are usually better for early growth because engagement is higher and your posts don’t get buried as fast

Small subreddits can drive high engagement, as the users are more passionate, leading to more targeted link clicks. I have observed that the larger subreddits are heavily moderated and users are highly hostile toward anything resembling self-promotion.

In the smaller Reddit communities, the users are more engaged in commenting and upvoting. But, the smaller subreddits have lesser competition. So, a good strategy is to start with niche communities to build an engaged audience and try to establish credibility. After that, expand to larger subs or even try to cross-post in order to increase visibility.
