What do you think Meta will do about Instagram AI moderation?

Hello, I'm an algorithm expert. I create accounts from scratch on Instagram and other platforms, reaching millions of people quickly simply by creating content and understanding algorithms. And I do this at zero cost.

However, recently, especially in the last three months, there has been a significant increase in bans and suspensions on Instagram accounts we've created. When I researched this, I found that this problem is global. It's not just content creators; regular users are also affected. Looking at feedback from other platforms, I see that users are quite dissatisfied with this issue, but Meta hasn't taken any steps to resolve it.

Therefore, instead of trying methods like changing devices, I've decided to put my work on the Meta platform on hold for a while. Because it's true that not only content creators but also individual accounts are being blocked even though they haven't done anything wrong.

I have a few questions:
1. How much longer will this continue?
2. Do you think Meta will offer any compensation regarding this issue, or will they choose to do nothing?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Many users have reported increased account reviews, suspensions, and enforcement actions in recent months, so you're definitely not alone in noticing it. From what I've seen, platforms regularly adjust their automated detection systems, and these updates can sometimes affect legitimate users alongside actual policy violators.

As for how long it will continue, nobody outside the company really knows. These issues are usually resolved gradually as detection systems are refined and false positives are reviewed. Regarding compensation, I wouldn't expect it. Historically, major platforms rarely provide compensation for account restrictions unless there's a clear legal or contractual obligation.

For now, the safest approach is to follow platform guidelines closely, maintain authentic account activity, and monitor official announcements for any policy or enforcement updates.
 
Instagram is going to be even more stricter regarding AI in the following months. A disaster
 
I think Meta is pushing aggressive AI moderation to fight spam and fake engagement but real users are getting caught too Many creators are facing random restrictions lately I doubt they will offer compensation and most likely they will slowly improve detection over time instead
 
how long it continues is hard to say these crackdown periods usually tend to ease up after a while once the algo recalibrates but Meta rarely makes public statements about timelines.
 
I don't think there is going to be any resolution, Meta has been taking a clear stance against anything AI especially if not labeled, i do not have any proof but from my own experience they even autodetect Google ID/OpenAI ID any photos and label them automatically.

The future in my honest opinion will bring only more restrictions towards AI generated content.
 
I think Meta will keep using AI moderation more aggressively on Instagram because it’s faster for handling large amounts of content At the same time I feel many normal users and creators still get affected by incorrect flags or restrictions Hopefully they improve the accuracy because automated moderation is not always fair
 
my guess is Meta will keep refining the AI moderation systems rather than rolling them back. if there are widespread false positives, they'll likely adjust detection thresholds and review processes over time
 
Language model based AI systems are getting more and more advanced and these platforms are rapidly moving from human moderators to these advanced large language model based AI systems. And, it seems like AI models result in false flagging sometimes. Accounts are sometimes disabled or suspended without warnings or possible human appeals. This will start negatively impacting users, but these companies have not yet realized it, as innocent users also get caught in the AI "crossfire".
 
My team has observed that the increase in bans and suspensions are not merely temporary glitches, but are clearly a systemic issue. False positives often nowadays get accounts flagged. There are cases of popular creators losing their accounts where there has been absolutely no policy violations. So, just relying on a single platform can be risky nowadays. It is better to build audiences across multiple platforms.
 
Seems Meta is going into overdrive with their AI moderation. Eventually AI content creation will become too good for platforms to detect, and it will kick off an arms race which will only stop when it becomes more expensive moderate than the benefit. It's all about wait and see
 
they’re probably just tightening AI filters for now, no real compensation coming, best bet is to slow down and focus on building legit engagement until the shakeout settles.
 
I’ve noticed the same thing lately. Nobody really knows how long it’ll last, but I wouldn’t expect any compensation from Meta. Even when they make mistakes, they usually just restore accounts and move on.
 
I think Meta will probably keep increasing AI moderation because manual review alone is too hard at scale. more automated detection for spam, fake engagement and copied content seems likely.

1) we can't say for sure how long will this last.
2) definitely no.
 
it will probably stay strict for a while, and Meta is unlikely to give any compensation, they usually just adjust the system instead.
 
I lost few of my accounts which were running since 2 years and making me good money
 
I've seen legit accounts get hit lately, so it's hard to blame everything on bad actors
 
Feels like platforms are becoming much more aggressive with automated moderation lately. Hard to say how long it will last, but these waves usually settle after policy or detection adjustments. As for compensation, I wouldn’t expect much unless there’s a very public issue affecting a large number of verified business users.
 
There’s no sign this is temporary.


Instagram (Instagram) is just getting stricter with spam/fraud detection, especially for new or fast-scaling accounts.
