Meta ended the end-to-end Encryption, Is it true ?

technically it is End to End Encryption, but since there server and the application/client source code is not open source no one knows if Meta secretly backdoored things like key generation, etc.
Anyways, it doesn't really matter, it is more probably that WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger collects data elsewhere, like who do you talk to, when are you checking new messages, devices, IP address, approximate location, statuses, etc since it technically doesn't count as messages so don't need E2EE nor needs protection

So kinda deceptive advertising. The message is probably secret, but Meta knows who you talk to can will handover information when asked by law enforcement.

No bro, this feature is still working with messenger and whatsapp to protect user's privacy.

it's just a rumor. the fact that meta still keep this end-to-end encryption feature to secure user's conversation.

Not everything about it is true
It's not like your private chats will be exposed as some media suggests

I heard news that Meta ended the end-to-end Encryption, is that true ?
As far as I know, Meta hasn’t officially removed end-to-end encryption from WhatsApp or Messenger. In fact, they’ve been pushing encrypted chats more over the last couple of years. WhatsApp messages are still end-to-end encrypted by default, meaning Meta supposedly can’t directly read the message content itself.

I think the confusion started because Meta introduced more AI features, cloud backups, and moderation systems around messaging apps. For example, if chats are backed up to cloud storage without encryption, or if users interact with AI assistants inside chats, some data can still be processed outside the normal encrypted flow. So encryption itself hasn’t “ended,” but privacy concerns are definitely being discussed more now because of these newer features.

Nope this is fake news. Meta hasn't ended end to end encryption and I don't think it will ever end it.

I have seen a lot of confusion around this topic Usually Meta changes features on specific apps or regions so it is worth checking the official announcement first I would not trust random headlines without verifying the source details carefully

This is true for DMs, but it continues to apply to other services.

Yes they did but only for IG since almost nobody was using it. So all IG messages are not encrypted anymore, but still offered for whatsapp and facebook
