I don't think content length matters. I get more visits on a site that has simple drawings, and tiny descriptions, I and others make, because it has a nice niche following, and is well branded and interactive site, compared with blogs i spent hours doing keyword research, writing articles, and other SEO nonsense before.
Basically if you build a site, that is good and unique, and hits the spot for your visitors, then they'll keep coming back and interacting themselves.
I don't think anyone recommending a WP blog in 2026 is credible. You have more computing power at your finger tips for cheaper than ever, you should be pushing your ideas, beyond one way passive non interactive blogs, that are losing traffic to real time chat bots in the millions.
Don't limit your thinking to "I'll just write a 5k word post, then I'll be at the top of the food chain, as nobody else has that" that really never works. lol A clanker can spit out 50k words, so what we just write that many words and expect google to love us for some reason? when the true fact is people don't want to read and learn most of the time, they want to play, interact and create.
You need effective and interesting content, that isn't mass produced by clankers, but is made with a serious and creative intention. Only humans with brains can do this.
It all starts with the topic you picked to build a site. Do you like it, do you spend time there, and are you proud of what you have made, and want to continue doing?
