Anyone successfully cloaking on Taboola?

Hey guys,


Curious if anyone here is currently running cloaked campaigns on Taboola or has done so recently with any decent lifespan.


I've been running native for a while on other networks and thinking about testing Taboola, but from what I've read their compliance team is pretty aggressive compared to other native platforms.


A few things I'm wondering about:
  • How long are campaigns typically surviving before getting flagged?
  • Are you using a specific cloaker (JCI, AdSpect, Traffic Armor, etc.) or a custom setup?
Not looking for anyone to give away their whole setup obviously, just trying to gauge whether it's even worth the effort and budget to test right now or if Taboola is basically a no-go at this point.

I am not running any campaign on taboola bur I saw few campaign on taboola that were promoting clickbank product. I was using spyhero spytool. I suspect they are running cloaked campaign. May be you can get a free trial and try to find out how are they cloaking the campaign. Spytools run a full url trace of ads campaign.
Their landing page snapshot on spytool was different from their current landing page.
Do you buy taboola accounts because they will ban the account eventually.

taboola complience is tough and not only clocking matters. u should also use warm accounts

Don’t use newly registered domains (.xyz, .site) better to purchase a domain with a history in the .com or .de (for Germany) zone that previously belonged to a real business or blog And SSL Certificate its basic requirement, but it should not be a free certificate from Cloudflare; instead, it should be a full-fledged paid certificate. This increases the level of trust among moderators.

Alot of them are cloaking, but when they join they usually say they will not cloak, The most important thing to keep in mind is that Taboola is internally strong to trackdown JS files and cloaking techniques, so you need to use better cloaker. Let me know if you need any help.
 
honestly taboola feels way less forgiving now than a few years ago. from what i’ve seen, longevity usually depends less on the cloaker itself and more on account history, billing behavior, warming patterns, moderation timing, and landing page aggressiveness. a lot of people obsess over cloaking tech while ignoring the trust profile of the account itself.
 
Taboola's controls have recently been made extremely strict; they now exercise more control than even the largest companies.
 
The review process of Taboola & MediaGo is as strict as everyone has said. However, our partners mentioned that recently, the distribution policies in Latin America and Europe have become somewhat more lenient:), but some countries like the United States still maintain a very strict approach.:(
 
@jonny2311 if you're coming from smaller native networks, Taboola will feel annoying fast. Seen guys get through a few days, sometimes 2-3 weeks, but the ones lasting longer usually aren't running super dirty angles... more like softened landers and aged setup. Cloaker brand alone wont save it, they catch patterns more than just the redirect.

Biggest mistake imo is testing with a fresh domain/account and aggressive LP right away, then blaming JCI or whatever. If you have budget to burn and a backup account flow, test it. If you're hoping for stable campaigns like old native days, nah, Taboola is not that place anymore.
 
The paid SSL thing is kinda overstated imo, I’ve seen plenty pass with normal LE/Cloudflare setup when the rest of the footprint looked clean. Taboola is not really a cloaker-brand problem anymore, it’s more the whole pattern... domain age, account spend history, creatives, lp claims, geo, even how fast you start pushing volume. If you go in with a fresh acct + fresh domain + hard advertorial, expect short life, sometimes same day. With aged assets and softer prelanders you can still get runs, but I wouldn’t treat it like a stable traffic source unless margins can eat bans and rework.
 
Taboola’s compliance team is no joke. I wouldn’t expect long lifespans if you’re relying on anything risky. Personally, I’d only test it with a small budget and decide if the ROI is worth the headache.
 
Taboola seems strict these days I would focus on compliant campaigns because long term stability usually beats risky shortcuts today

you have to keep on changing strategies, cause its taking 2-3 days for URL approval, by then a new compliance team will already submit new rules, hahaha!
 
It is true that taboola has been a real pain lately because of all their JS checking issues. I’ve been filtering traffic through TrafficSaviour for a couple of weeks now for my native landing pages,,and so far it is working well. but yeah, as mike mentioned, if you have new domains, then it doesn’t matter what you do
