It works indeed, SMS still maintains the highest reach rate.
SMS marketing can work very well if you're messaging people who have xplicitly opted in. Open rates are usually much higher than email, but sending unsolicited SMS can lead to complaints and poor results.
If you're testing it, start with a smaller campaign first and track response rates before committing to 50,000 messages. The quality of the list often matters more than the number of texts sent

Twilio or Plivo are probably the easiest to get started with for that volume, maybe check out Sinch too. Just keep in mind that if you are sending to the US you have to deal with A2P 10DLC registration now. If you dont register your campaign, the carriers will just block almost all your texts anyway. It definitely works but cold sms is basically dead, you really need a clean opt-in list otherwise you are just burning money.
