Here's my experience setting up TikTok accounts for a target GEO. I've tried all kinds of setups — emulators, cloud phones, browser bots — went through all of it. Most of it was garbage. Most automation solutions work for a couple of days then accounts started dropping like flies.
What I'm doing now has been holding up since mid 2025 so I feel pretty good about sharing it. This is gonna be long, fair warning. Everything here is from my own testing on 10 devices, somewhere between 20-30 accounts active at any point, and honestly a lot of money wasted figuring out what NOT to do lol.

1. WHY REAL PHONES
Most of you probably already suspect this but lemme confirm it from experience.
Started with emulators. BlueStacks, LDPlayer, MEmu. Ran like 20 accounts. After a month I think 2 or 3 were still alive? Maybe. TikTok fingerprints the x86 architecture, the OpenGL renderer, the fact that there's no accelerometer or gyroscope data coming in... it's not just one thing they check, it's everything together. In 2025 this is a completely
dead approach. Don't waste your time.
Cloud phones were better honestly. Tried GeeLark and DuoPlus mainly. Real ARM chips so the fingerprint looks more legit. I was getting maybe 35-45% of accounts surviving past the first month. Not terrible but not great either. The problem is these services share infrastructure under the hood and I think TikTok eventually picks up on patterns from the same hosting providers. Spent around $400 on cloud credits before I gave up on scaling it.
Then I just said screw it and bought some used iPhones off eBay.
Night and day difference. Like immediately. 80-85% survival with proper warming. Turns out when you run TikTok on... a real phone... through the real app... there's nothing weird to flag. Who woulda thought right.
Why iOS specifically? Two things. Apple's privacy restrictions actually work in our favor — TikTok gets way less telemetry off iPhones compared to Android. Less data = harder to identify a farm. Also iPhones are basically identical hardware. Every iPhone 12 is the same as every other iPhone 12. Android though? Thousands of variants and TikTok has 100% profiled those cheap Xiaomis and budget Samsungs that every farm uses.
2. HARDWARE
iPhone 12 or newer. You can get em for $150-200 on Swappa or eBay. A14 chip so plenty fast, still gets iOS updates, won't get stuck on an old TikTok version. Face ID is convenient for switching accounts without having to type passwords every time.
iPhone 11 / XR / XS still work if you wanna save some cash. $100-150 range usually. Good enough to test with before going bigger.
I wouldn't mess with Android unless you're doing Pixel + GrapheneOS and at that point you're paying $200+ anyway so just get an iPhone.
Physical setup is dead simple. 10-port Anker USB hub, bunch of lightning cables from Amazon (bulk pack), phones sitting on one of those little desktop shelf things. Turn on Optimized Battery Charging so they sit around 80% and don't cook at 100% all day long. That's literally it.
3. PROXIES — HOW I WAS BURNING $1,300/MO FOR NO REASON
OK so this section is gonna save some of you real money. Pay attention.

So here's my expensive lesson. When I started I went straight to mobile 4G proxies because everyone on here says mobile is king for social media. $130/month per phone. I had ten phones. Do the math — $1,300/month just on proxies. And yeah sure they worked. CGNAT, shared IPs, all the reasons people give for why mobile is the gold standard.
But at some point I thought ok let me at least TRY something cheaper before I keep hemorrhaging cash. Grabbed some ISP proxies from IPRoyal. Like $6 per IP. Same country, same setup. Swapped half my devices over.
Result? No difference. I'm not exaggerating. Same survival rate. Same view counts. Ran both side by side for over a month because I didn't believe it at first. The $6 ISP proxy performed exactly the same as the $130 mobile proxy.
So yeah. That was $1,200/month I was just... throwing away. For over 4 months. Cool. Cool cool cool.
What actually matters with proxies: right geo (match your target country), clean residential or ISP range (not datacenter), and STATIC — not rotating every few minutes. Whether the IP comes from a cell tower or a Comcast line, TikTok does not seem to care one bit.
One proxy per account, or 2-3 accounts max sharing one proxy if they're on the same device. Never share proxies across phones.
4. GEO CONSISTENCY
This trips up SO many people and they never realize why they're getting zero views. I lost like 3 weeks to this myself before I figured it out.
TikTok cross-checks a bunch of signals at once:
— IP geolocation
— Phone timezone setting
— Phone language
— SIM card country code (the MCC burned into the SIM)
— Apple ID region
If ANY of those don't match you're gonna get flagged. Seen it happen to other people on here too — perfect US proxy, everything else dialed in, but the phone timezone was still set to wherever they actually live. Zero views. Every time.
If you're targeting US, here's what needs to line up:
— US ISP proxy or mobile proxy (residential IP, not datacenter)
— Timezone set to EST or PST
— Language: English (US)
— US SIM card in the phone. Doesn't need active service — grab deactivated prepaid SIMs off eBay, like $3 each. TikTok reads the carrier code, that's all it cares about
— Apple ID registered to US
The SIM thing confuses people so let me be specific. You do NOT need a working cell plan. TikTok literally just checks the MCC/MNC code on the SIM to determine what country it's from. A dead T-Mobile SIM with zero balance works the same as a live $50/mo plan. I tested this specifically because I didn't believe it either.
5. WARMING ACCOUNTS
Gonna be honest, I skipped this part when I started and burned through probably 15 accounts before I accepted there's no shortcut. If you skip warming = 0 views = wasted account. Every single time.
The whole point is to get TikTok's algo to classify what niche this account belongs to. You know it's working when two things happen:
ads start showing up in your feed, and the For You page is full of content from your niche without you searching for it. That's the green light. Until you see both of those, don't post.
Day 1 — passive scrolling (40-60 min)
Open TikTok. Just scroll. Watch stuff.
Don't like anything, don't follow anyone, don't comment, don't search. Act like someone who literally just downloaded the app and is trying to figure out what it even is. Watch some videos all the way through, swipe past others after a few seconds. Just normal behavior.
The feed's gonna be total garbage day 1, that's expected. Random stuff. You're just putting activity on the account so TikTok sees a heartbeat.
Day 2 — training the algo (40-60 min)
Now you teach it. Go to search, type your niche keywords. Doing fitness? Search "home workout", "gym motivation", "fitness tips" etc. Watch the results. Watch them all the way through. Next keyword. Keep going for the full session.
Start liking stuff but keep it light — maybe 10% of what you watch. Scroll past 100 videos, like about 10 of em. Just enough signal so TikTok goes "ok this person likes fitness" without it looking like a bot that hearts everything it sees.
Don't follow anyone yet. Don't comment. Don't set up the profile yet.
End of day 2 you should see the FYP starting to shift toward your niche. Some relevant stuff popping up even when you're not searching. That's the algo learning.
Day 3+ — check if it worked
Open the app. Scroll the For You page. Do NOT search — just look at what TikTok shows you on its own.
You're checking for:
1. Ads in the feed (bonus if they're related to your niche)
2. FYP is mostly niche content, not random garbage
If both are happening? Account is warmed. Now set up the profile (pic, bio, username that fits the niche), drop your first video, start following people in the space. Keep follows moderate, like 10-15% of your viewing volume.
Still seeing random crap and no ads? Go back to day 2 stuff. Don't rush it. I've had accounts take 3 days, I've had some take 6. Go by the signals not by a calendar.
After you start posting:
One vid a day for the first week. Then ramp to 2-3. Keep scrolling niche content daily, don't just post and vanish. If your Following list is hidden on the profile — that's normal TikTok behavior on new accounts, not a ban.
Things that'll ruin it:
— Warming on one phone and posting from a different phone. Fingerprints won't match. Don't do this.
— Warming through a browser automation script. TikTok knows it's not the real app.
— Getting hit with a captcha during warming. That's a bad sign, account might already be flagged. Better to just start over than waste more time.
— Following a strict calendar ("it's been exactly 7 days so I'm good"). Watch for the signals instead. Ads + niche content in feed = ready.
6. POSTING — USE THE APP OR DON'T BOTHER
I tested this pretty carefully. Same accounts, same videos, three different upload methods:

That's like a 10x gap. Ten times the reach just by uploading through the app on the phone vs through a browser.
TikTok tags every single upload with where it came from. Publishing through the app is the healthiest scenario for TikTok. Browser or API = way smaller initial test audience + TikTok detects emulator and web activity. This is intentional on TikTok's part, they want people using the app.
This is also why there's never been a working "Jarvee for TikTok" even though people been asking about it for years. Jarvee was browser automation and browser uploads on TikTok are throttled from the start. Doesn't matter how good the bot software is if everything it posts gets suppressed at the platform level.
Only way to get full reach: upload has to come from inside TikTok's actual app on a real device. No shortcuts here.
7. SHADOWBANS
OK so not every view drop means you're shadowbanned. I see people on this forum freaking out over totally normal stuff. Here's how to actually tell.
Probably actually shadowbanned:
— 3 or more videos in a row stuck at 0 views, posted on different days
— Captchas popping up just from scrolling or liking. Normal accounts don't see those
— Your vids don't show up under the hashtags you used (check from a different clean account)
— You went from thousands of views to under 100 literally overnight
Probably NOT shadowbanned (just TikTok being TikTok):
— Views dropped from 10K to 2K. That's just the algorithm doing its thing. Fluctuations are constant.
— One video got way fewer views than your others. That one video just sucked. It happens.
— Growth slowed down after a hot streak. Welcome to TikTok.
What do you actually do about it:
If it's a new account (under 2 weeks old)? Don't bother trying to revive it. Seriously. Kill it, start fresh on a clean device reset + new IP. It's faster than trying to nurse a flagged account back to life.
If it's an older account with real followers? Stop posting immediately. Keep watching niche content normally for 1-2 weeks. Come back with original stuff only.
Most important thing:
stop posting the second you think you're banned. Every zero-view upload you make while banned just digs you deeper into the hole. Stop. Walk away. Wait.
8. CASCADING BANS
This is the one that really hurt. Lost 8 accounts in a single day because of this.
What happened: one account got flagged for something and TikTok went through every single account that had ever been logged into on that same phone. Killed them all. Eight accounts, gone, all at once.
TikTok officially says you can have up to 8 accounts per device. We've been testing setups with 5-6 accounts per phone, and with the right approach and proper switching between accounts they live isolated from each other and don't get matched or detected.
What helps limit the damage:
— Separate proxy for every phone. Don't share IPs between phones.
— 5-6 accounts on each device.
— Never EVER let your accounts interact with each other. No likes between them, no follows, no comments. TikTok maps social graphs and picks up on clusters fast.
9. CONTENT UNIQUENESS
TikTok does perceptual hashing, not just file checksums. They analyze what the video actually looks like and sounds like. Reuploading the same vid with a new filename gets caught basically instantly.
What still works for making duplicates unique enough:
— Swap out the first/last 1-2 seconds of the clip
— Different text overlays in different positions
— Actual crop changes (not just a mirror flip)
— Different audio track or slight speed shift
— Re-encode at different bitrate/quality
— Color grading changes, brightness tweaks
What does NOT work anymore:
— Horizontal flip only. TikTok normalizes for that now.
— Invisible pixel noise/watermark tricks
— Changing just the metadata. File hash and perceptual hash are different things.
If you're batch processing content: randomize crop amount (2-5%), speed (0.98x-1.02x), color curves, text overlay positions, and audio. The goal is each version should look different to a human watching them back to back, not just technically different in the file.
10. ACTUAL COSTS
One-time setup:
— 10x iPhone 12: $1,500-2,000 (paid $150-200 each, all used)
— USB hub + cables + shelf: ~$75

Total: $1,600-2,100
Monthly recurring:
— 10 ISP proxies: $60-80
— SIM cards (one-time but they're cheap): ~$30

Total: ~$90-110/mo
For comparison I was paying $1,300/mo when I was on mobile proxies. Switching was the single biggest thing I did for my bottom line.
What that setup actually produces:
20-30 accounts active, posting daily, averaging 3-5K views per vid. That's roughly 75K-125K views per day, or around 2.5-3.7M per month. At $0.30-0.50 CPM (depending on your monetization — CPA, affiliate, Creativity Program, whatever) that works out to about $750-1,850/month revenue.
With running costs under $110/mo the break-even comes fast. Month 1-2 if your content doesn't suck.
And yeah I know someone's gonna say "emulators are cheaper upfront" — sure they are. But 10-15% account survival getting 150-400 views per vid vs 80-85% survival getting 3-5K per vid. Run the numbers on actual revenue per dollar spent. It's not close.
11. STUFF I MESSED UP
Didn't warm accounts at all for the first couple months
Lost about 15 accounts. Just registered, posted, wondered why nothing worked. 3-5 days of scrolling would've saved all of them. I was just being lazy and impatient.
Paid $130/phone for mobile proxies for four months straight
Then finally tried $6 ISP proxies and got the same exact results. Four months. That's roughly $X,xxx I didn't need to spend. Just... test cheap options first people.
Used datacenter proxies on a few accounts "just to try"
Even once. Even to "test quickly." Account was toast the second it touched a datacenter IP. There's no going back from that.
Posted the same video to multiple accounts
Thought I was being clever. Got caught within hours, everything flagged. Perceptual hashing caught it. Each account needs genuinely different content, not just a reupload.
US proxy but forgot to change the timezone on the phone
Spent WEEKS getting 0 views on a batch of accounts and couldn't figure out why. Everything looked right. Turns out the phone was still set to my local timezone while the proxy was US. TikTok caught the mismatch. I made a full checklist after that because I was so mad at myself.
Got too attached to individual accounts
Some accounts just die no matter what you do. Random ban, TikTok being weird, whatever. If losing 1-2 accounts breaks your whole operation you don't have enough accounts. Build in redundancy. Expect losses.
12. QUICK ANSWERS
Android tho?
Yeah it's possible. Survival rate is worse in my experience. If you insist, Pixel + GrapheneOS minimum. Budget Androids from China are basically pre-flagged by TikTok at this point.
TikTok's official API for posting?
You can use it but views are garbage. Like 1/10th compared to app uploads. Kinda defeats the purpose.
How many accounts per phone safely?
TikTok allows 8. I've done 5-6 and gotten away with it. The safe play is 5. Go higher if you want but watch for early ban signals and be ready to lose the batch.
One SIM per account?
Nah. One per phone. Just need one dead US SIM in the device. TikTok reads the carrier code, not whether you have actual service.
What's the cheapest way to test this?
One used iPhone + one ISP proxy. Like $160-200 total. If you want results that actually mean something statistically, grab 2-3 phones so you have more data points. $400-500 range.
How do you automate uploading through the app?
UI automation on the device level. The software taps the screen like a finger would, but inside the real TikTok app so the upload keeps its mobile source tag. Building this yourself is a serious dev project. Most people running at scale use dedicated tools. Not gonna name specific ones here but you can PM me.
Is this gonna still work next year?
I mean nobody has a crystal ball. But real phone + real app has worked for me for over a year now and the reason is there's fundamentally nothing for TikTok to detect. You're using TikTok the way TikTok was designed to be used. I'd bet on this lasting longer than any other approach out there right now. But stay flexible, test constantly, don't get complacent.
WRAPPING UP
TikTok killed easy automation a while ago. No more spinning up 10K accounts in emulators and hoping for the best. But real phones with clean proxies, proper warming, and posting through the app? Still works fine. The barrier to entry is higher now which honestly is good for those of us already doing it — less competition.
