I wanted to try a new fun side hustle, using AI to create funny edgy stories that you usually see go viral on reels, but with a twist, in this story the characters use a coin, and I will use this as a marketing angle for a crypto meme coin started on pupmfun, do you think this is a viable idea or is the memecoin market dead these days

I think it's "not dead," but the hype era has weakened.

Before, a new meme coin would explode almost every week. Now, liquidity is more selective, money is more cautious. People aren't investing randomly; they're investing in those with strong communities.

So it's not completely over, but the easy money era isn't as comfortable as it used to be.

It’s definitely not as popular as it used to be. But it still has a strong investor base. I think you can give it a try.

Not completely dead
But it lost 90-95% of its popularity
People just got tired of being scammed

Hey crypto is dead right now, and the last thing people need is a new crypto meme coin. The possibility of having people in your coin is close to 0% right now.

I’d be cautious. Meme coins aren’t dead, but hype cycles are unpredictable and way smaller than a few years ago. Most of the market is now speculative noise, and even clever marketing rarely guarantees traction. If you try it, treat it more like a creative experiment than a reliable income stream.

The meme coin market is still active, but it's highly competitive and can be volatile. Using AI to create unique, funny, and edgy stories is a fresh angle, and combining it with a meme coin could catch attention. Just be mindful of trends and ensure your content is creative and engaging to stand out.

Most memecoins are scam coins
Wouldn't expect any one to make a long term investments on that

Not viable, at least at the given-time.
With the current market situation i doubt people with throw money on memecoins.

Also memecoins that have skyrocketed or atleast did great in the crypto space were hugely promoted with great marketing and hype by people that influenced masses.
Just creating a random AI-humor-story and throwing it on TikTok will bring you nothing in my opinion.

People who have succeeded (and yeah most of them are scammers) have had big communities already before promoting their coins.
But that is just my opinion, you can go for it. Not much to lose, its generally easy to create a coin on pump.fun afaik.

i've seen some success stories there, but also a ton of rug pulls and quick pumps. using ai for edgy reels to market a coin it's been done, and it's saturated now. the idea itself isn't terrible, but the execution and timing are crucial. you'll need to really nail the viral factor, and also build a community to ensure the coin lives, and doesn't die the second the pump is over

problem isn't creating the coin. everyone can do that in minutes. problem is keeping attention after day one. ai stories might get eyeballs if they're actually entertaining, but most projects die because marketing ends at launch. build an audience first, coin second. that's where the odds improve.

Whether it's feasible or not, you'll have to try it, but i think now isn't the time. There are already too many people like you on pupmfun and with the current situation, the chances of failure seem quite high.
