If your account is stuck and reels are getting random dead views, usually it’s not “shadowban”. Most of the time the content structure is just confusing IG.

From my experience, these are the biggest problems/mistakes:

Text videos

Text videos are one of the most unstable formats. One video can hit 100k, then the next one dies at 500 views for no clear reason.

Why? Because IG has to match the audience to the text every single time. Sometimes it pushes to women, sometimes meme audience, sometimes completely useless traffic.

So yes, text can work. But if your whole strategy is text reels, expect random results alot.

Mixed content with no direction

This is when the page has everything at once. Cosplay, dancing, lip sync, before / after, transitions, random trends, and none of it connects.

IG doesn’t understand who the account is for. The viewer doesn’t understand either.

Your page needs 2–3 clear formats inside one niche. Similar visuals, similar vibe, similar audience. Not 12 different styles fighting eachother.

Only posting Reels

A lot of accounts post only reels and maybe 1-2 random photos. That’s a big traffic loss.

Photo carousels should be posted every week too. Each photo can enter recommendations by itself and sometimes carousels bring more traffic than reels.

Also use Trial Reels. It’s basically a second traffic source inside the same account, and most people still ignore it.

If you use Reels + carousels + Trial Reels together, the account grows much faster. Simple.

have some extra sauce that i'll be dropping bit later.

Yeah, it's very true that coherence is key these day. Relevant info is important like never. AI built into platforms knows every single thing about your videos and pages.

I'm glad people open their eyes instead of blaming shadowbans.

In some ways it feels like we know a lot more about how media platforms work these days. They're more explicit today with how algorithms work.

Repetitive content and low engagement and spam can decrease views.

Instagram's algo is a fickle beast when it comes to matching the right audience to those, especially if you're trying to push content that's... well, let's just say it's not family friendly. the inconsistency is brutal, and it's a huge gamble. honestly, diversify your content. don't put all your eggs in the reel basket. carousels are gold. trial reels? underrated af. keep experimenting and tracking what sticks, that’s all i can say
Yes diversifying your content is the best solution to bring eyeballs to your offers and finally to your OF/fanvue accounts .
