Hi guys,
I have a fully English e-commerce site in the Telegram niche (Premium, Stars, Virtual Numbers). The best part is that it’s 100% crypto-based, so there are no PayPal chargebacks or payment gateway issues.

Stats for the last 12 months:

  • Gross Revenue: $54,600 (All Crypto)
  • Net Profit: ~$9,000
  • Good organic traffic.
I am thinking about selling it to focus on my offline business. Based on your experience in Site Flipping, what multiple should I expect for a 100% crypto business? Is 30x monthly profit realistic here?

A safe bet is 12-18 months of current montly profit. If you're making $9k per month, I would put at least 100k. The crypto market is bearish, wait till it recovers and you have a chance of finding a customer for $150-$200

@mikkx Thanks for the reply and the insight!

Actually, there is a slight misunderstanding. The 9,000 is my total annual net profit for the last 12 months, not monthly. So,the average monthly net profit is around 780/month**.

Based on your 12-18x formula, that would put the valuation somewhere between $9,000 and $13,500.

Do you think 12-18x is the standard ceiling for a crypto-only e-commerce store, or could the specific trending niche (Telegram services) push that multiple a bit higher (maybe 20x-24x)? Appreciate your advice!

12x month revenue is a very ballpark number on any acquisition we used during the purchase of some properties. I know that a similar formula applies for some offline businesses as well. Anywhere between 12 to 24 months. Of course, it's a case-by-case situation. Sometimes you might be sitting on a goldmine, and the buyer knows how to monetise it better. But it really depends on the market/scale. If you have any insights on competitors, this can be helpful also.

You need to understand the opportunity size of your app. Will someone with bigger budgets make it x10 or x100? Maybe platform owners will monetise it better? Maybe gambling affiliates can use this channel? Once you understand what kind of opportunity you're selling, you will be able to negotiate the price better.

You should stick to your online ecommerce here

tbh 10-15k is low if organic traffic is actually solid. id say keep it bro. online stores with recurring crypto revenue r hard to scale from scratch. offline businesses take way too much physical time nowadays, just automate this & run both imo

@KOLU & @james7788 Thanks for the advice, guys. Honestly, part of me completely agrees with you about keeping and automating it. The organic traffic is super solid, and crypto recurring revenue is a great asset. The real reason I'm looking to sell isn't because it's failing, but because I manage a portfolio of several other sites and I need a quick liquidity injection to scale a much larger project.

@mikkx & @qdza Appreciate the valuation estimates. 10k-15k makes sense if we are strictly talking about a standard 15-20x monthly profit multiple.

However, I forgot to mention a massive detail in my original post: This is NOT a basic WordPress/WooCommerce site.

The entire platform is a 100% custom-built, proprietary system. It includes seamless API integrations for Telegram virtual numbers, Premium, Stars, and fully automated crypto payment gateways with zero manual intervention.

If someone wanted to build this exact automated infrastructure from scratch today, the development and coding costs alone would easily be around $10,000 - $15,000, not to mention the time it takes to rank it organically.

Because of this "replacement cost" (Custom Tech + Automated Crypto Infrastructure + Solid Organic Traffic + 9k yearly profit)

Based on your experience, do buyers on platforms like Acquire or Flippa factor in the tech asset value and development cost, or do they strictly look at net profit multiples regardless of the tech stack?

Hey, I might be interested in your business in case you are selling it… If you want we can have a conversation so I can get more info before discussing pricing.

@midnight_rambler You hit the nail on the head. The organic traffic is definitely the crown jewel here. Building that organic foundation took a lot of time, and combining it with the custom infrastructure is why I was aiming higher than the standard profit multiples. I appreciate the reality check on the 30x, it helps me set my expectations right!

@markhanna55 Hey Mark, thanks for dropping by. Just to be clear and to respect BHW rules, I started this thread strictly to get advice on valuation and understand market multiples, not as a direct sales thread! However, my DMs are always open if you want to network or chat about the technical side and traffic metrics. I'll shoot you a message.

I was recently offered to buy out a project without web app users for $800, which $10-15k are you all talking about here) Such a project costs at most about 4-5k$ and there are factors that influence this. For example, there are a lot of pitfalls: there is not always the availability of rooms, rooms may be blacklisted, the purchase of rooms has already been used - moneyback. And I bought a bot for selling stars and premium for $50.

30x monthly profit is definitely on the high end, especially for a crypto-based site. while avoiding chargebacks is a huge plus, the crypto volatility and user adoption can be a double-edged sword for valuation. i'd be more inclined to look at something closer to 15-20x net profit as a starting point. have you considered how much effort goes into managing crypto payments and ensuring security? that's a constant background process you're running.

Honestly, @billboord makes a fair point about the API headaches with virtual numbers, suppliers go out of stock or change endpoints all the time. But comparing a custom automated platform to a cheap bot isn't really fair either.

The hard truth is that most buyers on Flippa actually kinda hate custom code. i sold a custom php tool a couple years ago and ran into the exact same issue... buyers don't want to pay premium for custom tech because they worry about maintenance costs if something breaks down. They usually prefer simple wordpress setups they can manage themselves.

@bia2znd your best bet to get that higher multiple is finding a strategic buyer who already runs a similar service and wants your organic traffic to merge with theirs. Otherwise, regular flippers are just going to price you strictly on the monthly net.

Wow !! congratulations on a great website building process!
For websites that generate revenue, buyers typically value based on net income, not profit.
It's worth noting that a net profit of $9,000/year on revenue of $54,600/year is equivalent to a profit margin of approximately 16–17%. When selling, buyers will usually want to understand a lot about the operational skills and sustainability of this profit margin ;)

The custom platform only adds value if the buyer can actually run it without chasing devs every week. Dev cost is usually a sunk cost in flipping, nobody cares that it cost 15k to build unless it gives them something defensible like exclusive supplier access, rankings, clean automation, etc. For a normal buyer I’d expect around 12-20x monthly net, maybe 24x if the traffic is stable and books are clean. 30x is not impossible, but that’s more if you find someone already in Telegram/crypto services who can plug it into their own funnel and instantly increase margins.

One thing nobody mentioned yet is that crypto-only actually scares off most of the serious flippers, not because of volatility but because they cant verify the books. You're handing them wallet screenshots and asking them to trust it. Thats a big trust gap and it pulls the multiple down hard.

The custom infra argument I get why you're pushing it but honestly it works against you here. Buyers see proprietary code with no docs and one guy who built it... thats a liability not an asset. If you walk away and something breaks they're stuck. Replacement cost only matters if they couldnt get the same result cheaper, and like @SMM Junction said a $50 bot does most of the same job for someone willing to grind.

Your realistic range is somewhere in the 12-20x monthly net like a few people already said, so call it 9-15k. The only way you break past that is a strategic buyer already in the telegram space who wants your traffic. For that buyer the tech and the books barely matter, they're buying eyeballs to plug into what they already run.

If you actually need the liquidity quick, take a clean 10-12k from someone serious instead of chasing 22k for 6 months. Seen people sit on overpriced listings forever waiting for a multiple that was never coming.

I think the mistake is trying to price the build cost like it’s automatically added on top of the business.

Buyers don’t really care that it would cost 10k to build unless the tech gives them something they can’t easily copy. If it’s just automation, APIs, crypto checkout, etc., they’ll still mostly value it off profit + traffic. The real asset here is the organic traffic. If those rankings are stable and buyer-intent keywords are bringing sales, that’s what pushes the price up.

For a normal buyer I’d say 12-20x monthly net is realistic. For a strategic buyer already selling Telegram/number services, maybe higher because they can plug your traffic into their own system and make more than you’re making now. I wouldn’t lead with “custom code cost me X.” I’d lead with traffic, margins, repeat customers, supplier stability, and how hands-off the operation is.

Hi everyone,

Thank you all so much for the detailed feedback and reality checks! I’ve read every single reply and it really helped me see the business from a buyer's perspective.

Since some of you reached out to me via DMs and Telegram with similar questions, I want to clarify a few important things that might completely change the perspective here:

1. The "Crypto Risk & Verification" Concern:
@JaxonWP and @High Dragon Agency brought up a very valid point about buyers being scared of unverified ledgers and crypto volatility. Just to be clear, we don't do manual wallet transfers. The site uses automated commercial crypto payment gateways.
Every transaction is instantly verified by the gateway and automatically converted to USDT to avoid any market volatility. So, the books are 100% clean, verifiable, and tied to clear gateway API logs. Also, for order fulfillment (Stars/Premium), the system simply holds USDT and automatically converts it to TON exactly when needed via API. It's a completely risk-free loop.

2. The Organic Traffic Secret:
Many of you rightly pointed out that organic traffic is the real crown jewel. Here is the big reveal: The majority of the highly-targeted traffic actually funnels down from two other sites I own in the "Telegram Story Downloader" niche. Both of these sites consistently rank in the Top 5 of Google for massive keywords.

3. The Bundle Idea:
Since a strategic buyer would want control over the traffic source, how would you guys value this if I sold ALL 3 SITES as a complete bundle (The Custom Store + The 2 Top-Ranking Traffic Engines)? Does that push the multiplier higher since it's a complete, self-sustaining funnel?

Finally, regarding the sale:
Thanks to your advice, I agree that a 20x monthly net multiple is a very fair and realistic sweet spot for just the store. I have decided to definitely proceed with the sale to focus on my offline projects.

Since I want to respect BHW rules and avoid turning this discussion into a stealth-sales thread, could someone point me to the right direction? What is the proper procedure to open an official "Website For Sale" thread here on BHW? Do I need to upgrade to Jr. VIP and submit it to the Marketplace section?

Thanks again for the amazing networking and advice!
