It's a gamble, man. google's gotten smarter, so you gotta be super careful about the domain's history and relevance, or you'll get burned

Yes It can work but only if you have clean history and relevant to your niche. Now google seems to be much better at detecting low quality redirect and spammy links networks now.

Most of those are pretty picked over or have shady histories. it's like trying to find a gem in a pile of junk these days. unless you're finding something truly gold with solid, relevant history, it's a lot of effort for minimal return, if any. i'd rather focus on building solid content and getting natural links
