Anyone making money selling APIs? If yes, what APIs you sell? Feel free to share details on how you build it, your past coding experience, how you market and so on

Yes u could make money selling Pis only but u should provide real value with them not just simple useless api. Noone is gonna buy u weather apis.
A few years back in was doing some good cash selling betting apis for sports books website. It was built in go for server side and jas returning json data. I am an experienced programmer with more than 10 years of experience.

Yep, I’ve been selling a couple of niche APIs for about a year. Nothing crazy, mostly small tools for data scraping and social media stats. I just built them in Node.js, hosted on AWS, and promoted in dev forums + Discord groups. Low maintenance, decent passive income if you find the right niche.

there are chances to be a market seller profile here selling good interest app or services,there are replica offer on micro workers platforms to sell interest service.

we are seen people monetize APIs for things like SEO data, email verification, AI tools, scraping, analytics, currency/crypto data, image processing, automation, and niche datasets. Some even build APIs around one small pain point and turn it into a recurring subscription business.

yeah, like claude code max subscription

unless you mean the desktop application called cowork by anthropic? no it doesnt come with that application, but if you can change the base url and add an api key somehow inside the app, you can just use your creds from aikompute

I am just on a journey for that. It is a platform for accessing statistics from ad networks.

Most of my coding experience is with Python, so I used that with FastAPI. With httpx I pull the data from ad networks, and then provide endpoints with FastAPI that unify the schema from all of the ad networks.
Deployed on a Hetzner VPS with Coolify. And created documentation with Mintlify.

Then built a LP with next.js. I have no experience with that, so I used some next.js SaaS starter template, and then with AI I edited the LP to suit my needs.
Also deployed on the same Hetzner VPS with Coolify.

For marketing, I reached out to publishers I know. I am also trying to make partnership deals with advertisers that know publishers, it would be an affiliate deal, where they get money for each publisher that signs up through them.
Also want to advertise here on BHW when I grow my profile.

Do you have any ideas for APIs you want to make?

I have seen people do well with APIs that solve specific problems like data collection automation analytics or content processing The biggest challenge is usually finding a real demand Marketing and reliability often matter more than the technical side once the API is built
