Buying a website for $15,000-$20,000 that generates $500 per month may not be a good investment, as you'd be paying 30 to 40 times the monthly revenue, exceeding the typical valuation range of 24 to 36 months. Consider growth potential, revenue stability, and operating costs. If the site offers additional monetization opportunities or has solid traffic, it could be worthwhile, but conduct thorough research before making a decision.

Going by pure numbers alone, not so much.
Now if the site has strong growth potential and you know for a fact you can scale it up, yeah. Especially if it's one of those undervalued sites that you see a massive room for improvement.
But yeah, if you're just gonna leave it at $500 a month, I wouldn't say it's worth it for that price.

That price is quite high compared to common valuation methods. Normally, buying a website for around 20 times its monthly income is considered reasonable.

The website price is way too high for the revenue it generates
If the website has good quality traffic, you can promote some other services on it... which will help you generate more revenue

It's all about the potential for growth and what you can do to increase revenue, because if you're just looking at the current earnings, it's a pretty steep price to pay. What I've seen is that sites like this can be a good investment if you can identify areas to improve and scale, like adding new monetization channels or optimizing the existing ones. The traffic quality is crucial here, as you can promote other services or products to increase earnings, but you need to have a clear plan in place to make it work. Buying a site and just letting it sit there won't cut it, you need to be willing to put in the work to make it profitable. In my experience, it's the sites with untapped potential that can be the best investments, but you need to be careful not to overpay.

This represents a substantial undertaking with, thus far, a low return rate; furthermore, you will also incur ongoing maintenance costs. I suggest you re-evaluate your website's growth trajectory and explore ways to boost revenue. Otherwise unless you restructure and optimize this investment it is likely to result in a financial loss.

You can take it for $10-$15k if the site has consistently delivered returns for the past year, has a scope to grow in the future, and has low maintenance costs. In a nut shell, you should be able to see the return on investment in the near future.
