Lately, I’ve been focusing more on how links affect local SEO—not just organic rankings, but map pack visibility too.

One thing I avoid now: mass link packages with no context or relevance. They still float around, but the results are weak.

- Links from city-based sites (even low DA) helped local rankings
- Guest posts and niche edits worked better when the site was related to the business type
- Citations with actual links (not just mentions) gave a small but noticeable boost
