Had steady engagement on Reels and feed posts for months, then woke up to impressions dropping across the board.
No policy flags, no strikes, and account wasn’t linked to any shady services.
I posted the same type of content as before and even reposted a top-performing Reel with no recovery.
Is there some soft shadowban or algorithmic cooldown?

Maybe it's a bug from the algorithm. Let it rest for 1 week then try posting again. If that doesn't fix it you can always contact IG's support and ask them why your account doesn't have good reach recently.

I’ve seen accounts randomly get reach cut like that even with no violations or weird activity. Sometimes IG just seems to stop pushing an account for a bit for no obvious reason. Reposting old reels usually doesn’t do much either because the algorithm already saw that content before.

It could be a short-term algorithmic cooldown posting consistently with variety usually brings impressions back.

I've encountered this before. It's not exactly a shadowban, more like a temporary distribution reduction algorithm. Reposting old content usually won't work, try changing the format or taking a few days off to see if it gets restored.

currently the algorithm is going nuts, im running IG for OFM Traffic and I can tell you there is something going on. I also got this feedback from 10+ other guys also running 7-8 Figure views per month that confirmed it. If you do a bit of research, you will see the FYP is mainly showing new videos to you instead of big videos, which never was the case. usually you would see videos that were going viral, now you see videos with 1000 views ( i think because of that most videos just die out instead of getting reach weeks later)

Could be a soft cooldown tbh, IG algo does weird stuff like that all the time. I’ve had pages tank for a week or two then bounce back outta nowhere. Usually I just keep posting, switch up hooks/audio a bit and avoid spamming uploads too close together.

Yes, many creators in 2026 report “soft cooldowns” on Instagram even without strikes. Usually caused by:
  • Audience fatigue
  • Lower retention signals
  • Too repetitive content
  • Engagement pattern shifts
  • Temporary distribution throttling after heavy posting
