I feel like people (including me) are moving towards a different approach on crypto these days
Weren't crypto currencies like bitcoin, monero invented to let users have full access to their own money... remove banks and other regulatory entities
Crypto cards basically convert crypto to mastercard/visa balance, and then complete your payment
If this continues, banks are basically included and will impose regulations

Shouldn't we focus on creating/using platforms who directly take crypto?
This was just a thought, please let me know I maybe wrong

Well, this is practically impossible because the banks and merchants are very smart; they don't want this to happen to adopt fully crypto environment. because if this happens then their are the one who will be in big loss for sure

They're definitely making crypto more accessible for everyday use, but you're spot on about the potential for re-introducing centralized control and regulations, which kinda defeats the original purpose i think?

What are the bank's benefits for doing such a thing for us?

I don't see any of their benefits if they do such things for normal users like us

There will always be a measure of control for anything that serves as a means of exchange,
90% of crypto cards still have fiat playing a role, which is where the government gets to regulate it

Crypto is getting highly regulated, and such things as no kyc shrinking the more
That's why coins like monero have lesser platform accepting them

yeah you are totally right, crypto cards basically put the middlemen right back in the picture and defeat the whole original purpose of crypto.

but honestly it is just a necessary bridge right now. direct crypto payments are still way too clunky and volatile for everyday stuff. nobody wants to calculate gas fees or wait for block confirmations just to buy a coffee. until native platforms make paying directly with crypto as fast and brainless as swiping a visa, people are always gonna choose convenience over pure decentralization.

The bank will never let this happens hense they want control of everything by the name regulations
This is already happening a lot. Banks are now trying to reduce the damage.
At the beginning, the bankers believed that Bitcoin & crypto would not experience mass use, and luckily, they did not start an anti-crypto campaign in time.
If you pay attention, you can find an alternative for almost every service that accepts crypto as a payment method.
In the end, even the current card payment we have is nothing but a digital currency payment. Mastercard or Visa without internet is a useless piece of plastic.

I just saw the banner in your signature. Can you give some feedback about this card?
They claim that they are no-kyc, but that might be a bit confusing, they have some notes that they leave open the possibility of asking for KYC data or that there is a risk of freezing funds.

Crypto cards are just a bridge not real replacement
they make spending easier but they still depend on visa and bank rails
Pure crypto payments exist but adoption is still too low for everyday use

What you mean by platforms that take crypto and are not decentralized are decentralized exchanges or dapps. These don't require KYC. But in order to take your money out you either have to have a cryptocurrency ATM or bitcoin ATM in your country. The bitcoin ATMs are untracable but have a higher fee like 15-20% of the money you put out.

Crypto cards are convenient but they bring banks and regulations back into crypto coins like Bitcoin were originally made for direct peer to peer payments without banks
so yes focusing more on platforms that accept crypto directly makes sense and stays closer to cryptos original purpose
