I dont understand that article from yesterday that says google search is over as we know it
so in the near future when you google something, you will get just a chatgpt answer? no blue links?
how are they going to make money doing this? where will the ads be?

when you have so much money that you can't spend in 10 lives the goals change, it's not about making money anymore, it's about immortality, preserving the status quo, and control

probably served directly onto the user's device... or implanted straight into their minds via beams of certain frequencies that match the frequency of the thoughts formed by the brain, they have the technologies to do that now...
 
Google adword is their main way to make money, now Google has enough data to generate every answers of every search query, so basically you can say that, 99.9999% sites won't have even 1 traffic in the near future, because of the 1st page full of AI shit.

In short, 1st page is always full of answers, filled by Google (and your stolen contents), and buinesses buy ads on 1st page.
 
Search is changing from “10 blue links” to AI answers at the top.
Companies like Google and Microsoft Bing will still show links, but less prominently.Most people may just read the AI response instead of opening websites.Ads will likely appear inside the AI answers as sponsored suggestions or products.So the future is probably: AI chat first, traditional search results second.
 
Its not that search is dying, its just shifting format. Google will still show links, just wrapped around AI answers so users stay on the page longer. Ads won't disappear either, they will just be blended into those AI responses so monetization stays intact.
 
I don’t think SEO is over.
It’s just the lazy content game getting squeezed harder.


Google can answer basic info now, so those clicks will drop for sure.
But buyers still search, compare, check brands, read reviews, look at Reddit/forums, and verify things before spending money.


So the game is not just “rank one article” anymore.
It’s more about building authority around the whole topic.


Sites with brand signals, mentions, backlinks, community presence, and useful content will still survive.
Thin AI content sites depending only on Google traffic are the ones I’d worry about.
 
For informational simple searches people will use AI overview like today... But for deep search people still have to go to website one by one.... No matter it still pulls data from websites so websites / backlinks / social signals all are must and to be honest it already rolled out a year ago and informational keywords are not profitable anymore but brandable commercial intent keywords are the way to go and still a chance. So don't worry about it and keep doing what you are doing.

Google search is over , means that AI is taking over and many people use it a search engine. That means fewer people look at major search engines like Google and the AI companies will give you better answers so you'd have to rank in the AI tools like chatgpt and not so much on other search engines like Google.
 
I don't think blue link fully disapperss. Google still make too much money from ads, they probably just mix AI answer with normal search result more and more.
 
The blue links arent completely disappearing, but Google is pushing them way further down the page to force AI Overviews right at the top. Basically, if a user can get a direct answer from the AI box, they wont bother clicking through to any websites, which kills organic traffic for basic information sites.
 
They’ll never kill the links entirely because they need that ad money to survive, google will just bake the ads right into the ai answers or stack them at the top like they've always done, It’s mostly just a new look for the search page not the end of the game for us.
 
Not really. Google isn’t just going to suddenly get rid of “blue links” they’ll probably put AI answers at the top, but the usual results will still be there underneath
As for money, don’t worry, they’ll still run ads—either in the regular results or blended into the AI answers
