On YouTube I sometimes see shorts or longer videos that are created entirely with AI-generated images theyre not even really videos more like slideshows. The audio is AI too. If YouTube accepts these what criteria do they use to reject the ones they do reject?
People mix up “faceless” with “low effort” all the time and is normal, but there is a BIG diference
YouTube has monetized faceless channels for years.
Long before AI
Those whiteboard channels with the hand drawing stuff, documentary channels with just narration and stock footage, meditation channels, top 10 channels all faceless.
The problem was never the format itself.
The problem is when the content feels automated, copied, or mass-produced with no real value added.
They monetize the value, not the tool.
If it looks like lazy spam made from recycled clips, generic AI voice, random images and no real editing or storytelling, it usually gets hit with Reused Content.
But if the channel has a good script, pacing, editing, retention, original structure, and people actually watch it, YouTube is fine with it.
A lot of people think “AI content” is what gets rejected, but honestly I’ve seen fully AI-assisted channels get monetized with zero issues because the creator still put effort into making the content engaging.
The same way years ago some channels only used a narrator over documentary footage and still did great.
The method changes over time, but YouTube has always rewarded channels that keep viewers interested
