But for entertainment or storytelling niches, chapters can actually destroy your audience retention. People will just skip directly to the climax or the ending and leave immediately.

yeah i still think chapters are helpful especially for longer videos because people can jump to the part they actually care about instead of leaving completely i dont think chapters automatically boost retention but they make the video easier to watch and that can help keep people around more if the content is structured well
