My bet will be getting traffic from reddit.

I’d probably lean toward testing TikTok first—low budget, quick feedback, and you can see which creatives perform before scaling. Google seems safer long-term but eats up a small budget fast. Curious what others have tried recently on Meta for small tests.

It depends. Some projects convert better with Google ads, others with IG or Tiktok ads.

Why don't you try Google ads and tiktok? Spend $100 on each and see which one performs better

If you're building software, Reddit

Everything else, TikTok Ads and Google Ads

i would leverage titkok or Fb to drive traffic & understand customer behavior however when it comes to driving actual conversions i would rely more on google ads

For a low-budget test, I’d personally start with Google Ads if the niche has clear buying intent. Even with a smaller budget, you can learn fast from keyword data and see what people are actively searching for.

TikTok is great for cheap reach, but creatives matter a lot there. If your content angle isn’t strong, the budget disappears quickly.

Depends on niche

For fast testing i’d still pick Meta
Easiest way to understand if creatives/offer have potential. Google is better when there’s already search demand

Run ads where your audience actually hangs out the most. Younger audiences are usually more active on TikTok and Instagram, while older audiences often respond better to Google or Facebook.

It also depends on the product. Google works well when people are actively searching with intent, while TikTok/Meta are better for catching attention and pushing products people were not specifically looking for

Heyyy, For low-budget testing in 2026, Meta Ads is usually the most reliable starting point because it offers the best balance of cheap traffic, stable optimization, and scalable targeting.

For a small $1k test budget, I’d personally prioritize platforms where intent is strongest and feedback loops are fast.
Google Search is great for validating existing demand, while TikTok is amazing for cheap attention if the creative hooks work.
Meta still works well too, but creative fatigue and targeting issues make it harder for beginners sometimes.

google all day for testing. ppl already searching, less guesswork. meta/tiktok need creatives + data to dial in. with 1k u don’t get enough runway there

I usually go with Google and meta based on the country.

Meta for most niches because targeting is precise and $1k is enough to get real data, TikTok if its a younger audience or visual product, Google only if you know the intent keywords otherwise burns fast.

I will choose Meta Ads because it has the best tools to find exactly who likes your niche. with 1k$ i can test diffrent target groups in a week to see who clicks the most.

The suggestions of Google Ads for a $1k budget in 2026 on a new project/campaign are, frankly, ridiculous. Awful advice.

$1k will go and regardless of whether you profit or not (which is unlikely with a new campaign as it takes time to fine tune), and even worse, the data set you have from such a small volume of impressions/clicks/conversions will be WORTHLESS. You won't be able to accurately draw any conclusions. The data set will be completely meaningless - fact.

If anyone tells you otherwise, they're either ill-educated, or lying.

Honestly with just $1k I’d go TikTok first if the niche has any visual angle at all. Fastest way to see if people actually care before burning cash on Google CPCs. Meta still works but feels way more random lately unless your creatives are solid. Google is safer for buyer intent, but testing gets expensive quick in competitive niches.

Okay, if I had a grand to play with, I'd probably lean towards tik*tok, because it's still pretty organic-friendly and you can get a lot of eyeballs on your stuff for relatively cheap. I think it's the best bet for a quick, low-budget test in 2026 to see if your niche even has potential.

It depends on the demographics. I'll choose insta/tiktok for younger audiences, meta for middle aged or older people, Google for tech/professional searches.
