Hello bhw! I am new to this forum (digital marketing in general) and am a freshman in college. I want to earn money for my mother's hospital bills and rent, which is estimated to be about $10k in the span of the next 3 months + $140/month. I do not really have a skill I am superior at/superduper good at but I have quite a lot of skills I used to be interested in. To name some in order of proficiency would be: Data Entry, SEO, Programming, Video Editing, and Music Production. My only problem is I can't seem to find which one I should focus on and where to find/how to attract clients. I learn quite fast and pick up on things very easily, but it comes with the problem of having the fear of rejection even when I'm aware that I am anonymous. Where should I start?

You’re overthinking the “perfect skill” part — pick SEO or video editing, offer cheap starter services on BHW/Fiverr/Discord, send 20-30 outreach messages daily, and remember most beginners fail because they quit after a few rejections, not because they lack skill.

I'll push and do my very best! Thank you for the advice sir!

Making money online takes time. Earning $10k in 3 months is quite a high income level for online work, and it’s very difficult if you don’t already have a solid foundation.

This. First focus on providing value; money comes automatically.

This is the answer you are looking for. You must learn outreach and sell a service, you don't have time for anything else.

From my perspective, Video editing is good.
Many US clients pay well for 1 insta reel video editing. $5 to $50 easily
I recommend you to focus on only 1 field at a time.
To start your money making journey, start with fiverr/freelancer.

Hope it helps.

Echo the comments that say pick a skill and sell it to someone. EG. if you're good with video, you could find a local business that is trying to use video on socials but aren't very good at it. Do them up a free video showing your skills. Give it to them, ask if they'd like some help.

Try that with whatever skill you're good at or what you see someone doing badly on socials. Good luck.

You don’t need to have perfect skills right now, you just need to start. Choose one thing, work it for 30 days, most people fail because they don’t stay consistent long enough, not because they lack skill
Goodluck
Honestly, the only reason why im too afraid to start is im afraid of failing. This helped a lot. I'll do my very best! Thank you very much everyone! Wishing everyone success!

I want to thank everyone who responded to this post, cos you aren't actually helping him alone, you are actually helping a whole lot of many of us out there... I think I found myself in the same shoes about a few months back... It was difficult and scary at first, and not that am claiming that I have made much, but I just decided never to worry about rejection of failure...and I really got a whole bag of those on fiverr and upwork...i can't hide the fact that reading all comments here really sharpen my iron the more... Thank you so much for your supporting and encouraging comments... I have skills in Music Production, but I am slowly working my way up in Programming,Data Science and Machine Learning...

We got this man! Wishing the both of our success, we have a whole future ahead of us.

10k is hard. but 3 months is a long time. If you can do consulting, or sell something maybe, it would be the easiest way. You have to start now and stay consistent for the next 3 months though. I assume most of the money will come on the 3rd month once you have social proof.

To earn money - you need only traffic. Instagram reels give a free traffic when you posting from real device(iPhone is the best for it). Set up account and start posting. Add @ mainAccount in bio after 5-7 days. From main account add link to telegram/site but not direct - use lnk.bio or similar. Once you start getting traffic - make 30-50 accounts and posting everyday from real devices. Outsource posting to someone, and do it from 200-500 accounts.
