Is anyone running reddit accounts on physical phones?

Anything with automation related to reddit increases the chances you'll be shadowbanned on reddit.
I would be surprised anyone if anyone is doing this unless they're using a high karma account and doing things that would not breach one of reddit policies.

Reddit is moving from device-based fingerprinting to behavioral fingerprinting.
At a surface level, running an account on a mobile device and using a mobile proxy is helpful, but at a deeper level, they're watching browsing and upvote patterns, which subreddits you're accessing, and how those patterns resemble those of other banned users. Those are all things Reddit mods and dev have openly said.
Because they're publicly traded, they're under intense pressure to fight AI and bot activity to alleviate investor concerns that their MAU is mostly bots.

Certainly, many people still use physical phones to manage Reddit accounts. However, setting up automation systems is not simple, and the success rate is much lower than it used to be.

Running reddit accounts on physical phones with automation seems like way too much overhead and super inefficient when most people just spin up CLOUD PHONE

do you have experience with that or just talking. Because reddit is very sensitive to emulation

If you have some devices on your home, especially android non-rooted. you can do clone app using matrix, clone playstore first > login with google > install reddit, repeat
Setting up a rack of physical phones for reddit is way too much maintenance compared to just using residential proxies on a headless setup. It’s a total headache to manage that much hardware unless you're trying to bypass some really strict device fingerprinting

Physical phones work but Reddit's behavioral detection is way more sophisticated now. They track comment velocity, subreddit hop patterns, vote timing sequences across accounts.
Running automation on physical devices helps with device fingerprinting but won't save you if your action patterns are identical across accounts. Same typing cadence, same session lengths, same subreddit sequences = flagged regardless of hardware.
The maintenance overhead is brutal compared to what you get. You need different carriers per device (they cross-reference IMSI), separate Google accounts with realistic app usage history, varied hardware models to avoid clustering detection.
From what I've seen work: human-assisted posting where real people use the phones during realistic hours, not full automation. Pure automation gets caught on behavioral signals within 2-3 weeks even on genuine hardware

People definitely run setups like that, but it really depends on what level of automation you’re aiming for. Android is usually easier to work with if you’re trying to automate anything though.

we’re looking at building out a pretty serious setup long term, probably 10k+ reddit accounts eventually, but trying to do it the right way instead of just blasting emulators and burning accounts nonstop.
feels pretty obvious the landscape changed a lot over the last year or two. seems like reddit cares way more now about behavior patterns/account relationships/session consistency than people realize.
we’d rather spend money upfront learning from people who already figured this stuff out instead of wasting months relearning the same lessons and getting everything banned.
if anyone here actually runs this type of setup successfully long term, definitely open to paying for consulting/help/tooling/contract work. happy to pay for real experience.
