How accurate is the Keywords Everywhere extension for keyword research?

Hi all, I recently found a keyword with 500K monthly search volume using the keyword everywhere extension.

I checked to see if the exact match domain was available, and it is, so I registered it.

But..... When I use other tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush for the same keyword, it shows zero searches.

So if you me, which one would you believe?

Keywords Everywhere often uses broader data sources, while Ahrefs and SEMrush rely on more conservative clickstream data. If the EMD was available for a 500k volume term, the other tools are likely more accurate in showing it as a low-traffic keyword. I’d trust the zero-volume data more, but you can always test with a small Google Ads campaign to see the real impressions. :cool:

Thanks, I was leaning towards believing Ahrefs & Semrush more than keywords everywhere....... but then I read that keywords everywhere pulls its data from Google keyword planner?

So I'm still not sure what to believe.

But I was thinking of just building a landing page and running ads to it and see how it goes like you said.

That's probably the only way to find out, I think, isn't it

Keyword Everywhere is useful for quick ideas, but it can sometimes estimate volume based on mixed data sources or outdated clickstream patterns, which can inflate numbers a lot. Ahrefs and Semrush are generally closer to real-world search behavior because they normalize data across larger keyword sets and actual SERP tracking.
 
Auto blog posting can get traffic if the content is high-quality, SEO-optimized, and targeting low-competition keywords.
 
It pulls data from google keyword planner, but that doesn’t always mean the number is perfectly accurate for seo. Google keyword planner often groups close variants, related terms, and broad matches together. That can make search volume look much bigger than the exact keyword demand.

That’s why I’d still cross check with ahrefs, semrush, google trends, and the actual serpss before trusting a big numbers. The source may be Google, but the context still matters.

I usually compare multiple tools before trusting search volume numbers, no keyword tool is perfectly accurate anymore

This is a good explanation of what could be happening.

Google keyword planner could be grouping my target keyword with close variants and inflating the data.

I have checked this same keyword with Ahrefs, Semrush and Kwfinder. These tools say zero searches.

Thanks for sharing these insights, I suspect this is what could be happening.
 
I would not rely completely on one keyword tool when the search volume data is very different. Some tools use estimated or outdated data, which can sometimes make keyword numbers look inaccurate. It is better to check Google Trends, autocomplete suggestions, CPC, and the actual search results manually. If the keyword already has advertisers, competing pages, and visible search intent, it could still have real traffic potential.
 
Keyword tools often show very different numbers because they use different data sources and estimation methods. I would personally trust a mix of Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Trends, and actual SERP results instead of relying on only one tool.

I can only see one advertiser but the website advertising is a lot broader than the keyword I'm targeting if that makes sense.

Yes, I have just been doing this, and it doesn't seem like anyone is targeting this particular keyword.

The search engine results show the broader niche, but it's not laser-targeted to the specific keyword.
