looking for genuinely mind bending stuff.

could be anime, movies, documentaries, web series, mystery thrillers, disturbing/philosophical shows etc.

the type that leaves you thinking about it for days after finishing it

Movies/Shows Id recommend in this vein:

1. Antiviral: Its by the son of the infamous body horror director David Cronenburg, well his son inherited his brilliance and then some. It's a near future brutal take on celebrity worship and greed using some fascinating neo noir/thriller psychological elements. Watched it a few days ago and its been on my mind ever since.
2. Standford Prison Experiment: Its a movie based on a true story of college students split into two factions for an experiment, some are guards and some are prisoners. It examines how positions of authority lead to people becoming very, very, messed up and abusive even if they were perfectly normal before. Absolute power corrupts and all that. Solid flick, documentary is great too.
3. Person of Interest: It's a show, just go in blind. I dont want to spoil anything, you'll be hooked within a few episodes. One of the greatest television shows of all time and almost prophetic. Also made by JJ Abrams and Jonathan Nolan so you cant go wrong.
4. The Contestant: A japanese man is told he is shooting a show that will be aired later. It was actually live, and the conditions are so messed up, they damaged him and his life more than you can imagine. Its a must watch in cruelty, explotation, and the fact the public let it happen. Its a real life Truman Show hellscape documentary.

There's a German film based on the same subject called Das Experiment that's really good, too, I highly recommend it.
