I wrote some pretty niche article on one of the profit sharing sites way back in the day where they also allowed you to add your own AdSense. I did it because it was the easiest way to get an AdSense account approved as I wanted to monetize a grey hat site I was working on and didn't want to apply for AdSense with it. But the article actually got some good traction and not only got my AdSense approved, but got me my first AdSense payout. It ended up earning me a few hundred bucks altogether which was good money for me back then. It also allowed my grey hat project to survive for longer as my AdSense suddenly got a very respectable track record.
